Severe Storm Watches & Warnings
Regional Temps
Updated 2:51 pm February 26, 2015
After the Thursday morning's snow, we will experience relatively quiet weather heading into the weekend
This morning’s snow system is now centered over the Atlantic Ocean well east of Ocean City. An upper level system will cross the region overnight bringing colder air and scattered flurries. A few flurries will be possible in the morning but skies will become partly cloudy through the day. Saturday will remain unseasonably cold and dry with a fair amount of sunshine. Clouds will increase Sunday as another cold front approaches our areas and rain and/or snow will be possible by Sunday evening. Right now it looks like it will be all rain on Monday as temperatures climb into the upper 40s.

Shown is a spectacular lenticular cloud formation as observed above the flanks of Volcan de Agua in Guatemala. Lenticular clouds (Altocumulus lenticularis) take shape on the lee side of mountains or elevated terrain as air near the surface is forced upward. However, to get stacked clouds having noticeable layering like these, a strong mountain wave is needed and sufficient moisture must be available at cloud height.
