SecureCRT 6.7 delivers a third major platform – Linux – with versions for Ubuntu and Red Hat. This release features a new Connect bar and many improvements to the button bar and scripting, like Python support in the script recorder and also copy and paste for button bar buttons.

The Connect bar lets you enter connection information right in the main window toolbar.

The script recorder can now generate Python code as well as VBScript.

Button bar improvements include using more than ten buttons, copy and paste, and move actions.

Tabbed sessions - easier to organize and track

With the Linux version just as in Windows, tabbed sessions show all your connections in one SecureCRT window. Switch between tabs, launch an SFTP tab, clone a session, and track session status just by looking at the tab status indicator.

Session customization

SecureCRT's forte is session management: name your sessions, save and recall session settings, configure custom keyboard, display, connection, and other settings for each session. Then organize your sessions in folders, and quickly launch groups of sessions from the Connect dialog.

Connect bar

Use this text entry box on the toolbar to connect a session quickly without having to open a dialog. The Connect bar supports command-line options allowing you to do things like specify a
firewall to use.

Python support in script recorder

The SecureCRT script recorder can now generate Python code as well as VBScript, to help quickly automate connections. For true cross-platform scripting, Python is supported in all versions of SecureCRT – Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Local shell

Linux and Mac versions allow you to configure and run a local shell in a SecureCRT tab, no different than with remote connections. Take advantage of scripts, mapped keys, and all SecureCRT's labor-saving tools in the local console.

Button bar improvements

New capabilities have been added to the button bar interface. Now you can:

Add more than ten buttons to a button bar
Copy buttons and paste them into another button bar
