E.  The calendar has been updated to reflect the ASSETS AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM at Chaparral.  Each time you stay after school for one of the Edgenuity (Online Class), tutorials in Math or English, or the Construction or "Floral Fun" programs, you will receive a BUS TOKEN and a SNACK!  You do not have to be a member of that program or in the class of the tutorial teacher to participate.  If you have any questions, please talk to the participating teacher, or email Mr. or Mrs. Farley at mfarley@guhsd.net or cfarley@guhsd.net.

F.  The APEX online class is available after school Mondays-Thursdays from 3-4:30pm in the computer lab in the Learning Resource Center (LRC).  Each class you complete will give you 5 more credits towards graduation and most of the work can be done at HOME or OFF-CAMPUS!  Please see Mr. Beeman, our on-site substitute teacher, or your guidance counselor for more information.

H.  Our Weekly Bulletin for March 2-6, 2015 has been updated in the SCHOOL INFO section at the top of the page.

I.  Students who are on time to class, regularly attending, and meeting classroom behavior expectations will be released on Fridays at 12:18 PM.  We expect that the majority of our students will meet these expectations.  However, if a student does not meet these expectations, he/she will be placed in a behavioral intervention program until the regular release time of 2:44 PM on Friday. Parents/guardians will be contacted by the Thursday prior. Unfortunately, transportation is not available on Fridays at 2:44 PM.

J.  Due to the shift to our 12 week grading model, attendance and academic focus will be important to student success.  Students having multiple absences and or missing assignments will be assigned a "Fun Friday" or "Super Saturday" to assist with making up work and catching up on their academic coursework. Parents will be contacted by their child’s teacher if assigned.

K.  Students may voluntarily attend these make up sessions so they can make-up, continue or reinforce their class work.  The dates for these sessions are on the calendar below.

L.  More calendar events will be added so keep checking back for more information!  All sports, new student orientation meetings, trips and ASB events are on the calendar.  Any questions, suggestions or additions can be sent to Mr. Deerfield at bdeerfield@guhsd.net.
