OggConvert 0.3.2 released

OggConvert version 0.3.2 “…and some blood on my shirt” has been released.
This is the latest release of OggConvert, a simple Gnome utility to convert media files into the patent-free Theora, Dirac and Vorbis formats.
Dirac encoding requires version 1.0.0 or newer of the Schroedinger encoder for GStreamer.
OggConvert is written in Python using PyGTK and PyGST. It is released under the GNU LGPL.
What’s new in this version:
- (Hopefully) fix time remaining being way off on AMD64. Closes bug #250174.
- Fix (MPEG) files occasionally showing “120% Completed” and other such oddities.
- Dirac is no longer considered “experimental” now that the encoder has reached v1.0. Go ahead and try it out!
- Use “perceptual weighting” in the Dirac encoder by default. This should result in much smaller output files (and slightly quicker encoding) at equivalent quality settings.
- OggConvert’s quality settings now match ffmpeg2theora’s.
- New translations: Catalan, Franco-Provençal, Hebrew, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Norwegian Bokmal, Slovak, Serbian, Turkish and Traditional Chinese. Many thanks to all the translators.
- Other minor bug fixes

hello y have tryed many times install oggconvert under windows. i did al the steps but here:
“When GStreamer asks you if you want to download a new version of Glib, say no”
i had to stop: gstreamer does not install (any version) when i say no in the “no” button, and stopps the installation.
¿can you solve this problem? there is not very much avi to ogg free (of freedom) converters on internet, and less for windows (remember:free of freedom)
than you.

It seems to work nicely but not being able to select a folder or set of folders for conversion *seriously* limits this application’s utility. Is there perhaps a command line, et al for conversion that would do the trick?

Thanks for this nice piece of software. It’s quick and converts sound and video to a free format without the hassle.

Hi,
Just discovered this little jewel and i’m using it with Ubuntu 9.10.
Works like a charm, pitty though that it’s converting just one file at a time.
Any new releases in the near future? As this is a post from 2008.
