Get Involved

spacer There are opportunities for all residents to get involved with helping shape the future development of our islands. The Mull and Iona Community Trust encourages involvement from the community, ensuring that the endeavors undertaken have the needs of the community at heart. There are various ways to get involved.

Attending community consultations, aimed at gaining a full understanding of resident’s views, is a direct way in which you can involve yourself with the work of the Community Trust. It allows residents to have a real input in the direction of development and show support for projects. Attending fairs is also a great way to get involved; this has previously allowed the Community Trust to offer advice on issues such as reducing carbon emissions and household waste.

The Community Trust also run a membership scheme (link to Become a Member page) which provides members with a quarterly newsletter, keeping them updated about ongoing projects and forthcoming events. By becoming a member you also have the opportunity to get more involved with the way the Community Trust is run by voting on Directorship; Directors ultimately steer the activities of the Community Trust.

There are also volunteering opportunities (link to Volunteering webpage) available to those willing to donate some of their spare time. Our islands thrive from people who offer their time to benefit others or help with projects and events; volunteering strengthens the community spirit that is very much prevalent in Mull and Iona.

All are invited to get involved with community projects; they are implemented to benefit our communities so the more input from residents the more appropriate the development will be for all.
