05/24/2012: New Jersey RCFL Receives Prestigious ASCLD/LAB-International Accreditation — The New Jersey RCFL (NJRCFL) was recently approved for the ASCLD/LAB International Accreditation Program after completing an intensive assessment by expert evaluators. The lab, which opened in 2004, achieved ASCLD/LAB Legacy Accreditation in 2006. Click here for more information.

UPCOMING TRAINING

There are no upcoming classes at this time.

The FBI's Newark Division was selected by FBI Director Robert Mueller III to host a Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory (RCFL) in 2004. The New Jersey RCFL opened in November 2004. In 2011, according to the most recent RCFL Annual Report, the laboratory trained more than 260 law enforcement officers and processed over 300 terabytes of data in support of New Jersey law enforcement agencies.

On November 21, 2006, the New Jersey Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory earned accreditation through the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors-Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD-LAB) in the Digital and Multimedia Discipline in both the computer and video subdisciplines. We are the first digital forensic laboratory in the northeast to have attained such accreditation. On May 24, 2012, the lab earned the ASCLD-LAB international accreditation following an intensive assessment by ASCLD-LAB expert evaluators.

The RCFL is seeking interested law enforcement agencies that wish to join us in this important endeavor. To learn more about becoming a Participating Agency, contact NJRCFL Director Ronald Menold at (609) 631-8777.
