Angefangen haben wir vor 10 Jahren als Duo: zwei Gitarren – und zwei Stimmen, die unterschiedlicher nicht hätten sein können: die Sanfte und das Biest. Ihr und sein Songrepertoire zusammen ergaben die frühen Singvøgel. Wir tingelten ungefragt durchs Land und hinterließen Songs an so manchem Lagerfeuer. 2006 wollten wir einen Percussionisten, doch mit Sven kam ein Schlagzeuger. Die Songs wurden lauter und wir eine Rockband. Was heißt Rockband? Bei uns klingt jeder Song anders – wir machen nicht zwei von derselben Sorte. Außer, dass wir ziemlich oft übers Meer singen – vermutlich, weil es von jedem unserer Wohnorte weit weg liegt. Vielleicht aber auch, weil es was mit Weite zu tun hat, mit Tiefe und mit urtümlicher Wucht. Und weil dort so viele mystische Geschöpfe wohnen. Mit denen wir uns naturgemäß verbunden fühlen.

Zu unserem 10jährigen Jubiläum wollen wir euch die beste Singvøgel-CD präsentieren, die es je gab. Einen Produzenten haben wir, die Aufnahmen sind im Kasten – jetzt fehlt noch das Geld für Presswerk, Cover und Booklet. Wir pokern hier aufs Minimum: die nackten Produktionskosten. Jeder Cent, der übers Ziel hinausgeht, macht das Artwork schöner, das Ergebnis toller, kurz: alles bunter, weiter, lauter. Wenn viele Cents übers Ziel hinausgehen, können wir den Menschen, die uns helfen, sogar etwas bezahlen für ihre Arbeit. Wenn ganz viele Cents übers Ziel hinausgehen, gibt’s ein Release Konzert – das auf die Beine zu stellen, kostet übern Daumen fünf- bis achthundert Euro extra.

Das ist unser erstes Crowdfunding – normalerweise machen Bands sowas erst, wenn sie nennenswert im Geschäft sind, eine mindestens vier- bis fünfstellige Fanbase und auch sonst so einiges in trockenen Tüchern haben.

Wir waren schon immer etwas eigen – wollen wir doch mal sehen, ob sich nicht neue Wege finden lassen, auch und gerade jenseits des Mainstreams. Ihr steht auf Musik – wer braucht die Industrie? Wir nicht. Lasst uns zusammenhelfen und zusammenhalten.
Ihr finanziert uns direkt, also die nackte – nein: die verpackte – CD, wir spielen direkt für euch, gehen auf euch ein, sind für euch da, begleiten euch, sind immer ansprechbar.
Wir produzieren abseits der Industrie, sind auch nicht bei der GEMA. Wenn diese CD über Crowdfunding finanziert werden kann, habt ihr uns bewiesen, dass alles geht! Dann veröffentlichen wir sie unter CC-Lizenz: creativ commons – das sind spezielle Vereinbarungen, die nichtkommerzielle Weitergabe und Privatkopien erlauben.

Deshalb zurück zur Sache – wie funktioniert’s?
Ihr meldet euch an auf diesem Portal, sucht euch aus, was ihr haben wollt von unseren Goodies und Leckerlis – neben der CD selbst mit und ohne Autogramm usw. – haben wir ein paar Specials anzubieten: darunter echte Schätzchen wie Pauline, Karans erste E-Gitarre, oder einen 70er-Jahre-Leslie-Simulator, oder ein Wochenende Percussionunterricht am Cajon, oder den exklusiven Liederschreibetag, wo wir dir helfen, deinen Song zu schreiben und aufzunehmen. Tausend interessante Sachen – ihr meldet euch im Portal an, klickt auf eure Wünsche. Das ganze ist ohne Risiko für euch: Wenn’genug Leute mitmachen und genug Geld zusammenkommt, bekommt ihr alle was ihr wollt, wenn’s nicht klappt, behaltet ihr euer Geld. So einfach ist das. Also gebt euch einen Ruck und macht mit – zeigt uns, was geht, dann zeigen wir es der Welt.

We started 10 years ago as a duo, two guitars – and two voices, which could not have been more different – the gentle one and the beast. Her and his song repertoire together formed the early Singvøgel. We hit the road, unbidden, leaving behind songs at many campfires. In 2006 we wanted a percussionist, but with Sven there came a drummer. The songs became louder and we were a rock band. Rock band? Each of our songs sounds different – we do not make two of the same kind. Except that we sing about the sea a lot – perhaps because it is so far away from where we all live. Perhaps also because it has someting to do with wide open space, with depth and primordial energy. And because so many mythical beings live there, with whom we feel naturally connected.

On our 10th anniversary we want to present you the best Singvøgel CD ever. We have a producer, the recordings have been made – now the only thing that’s missing is the money for the pressing, the cover and the booklet. We ask for the minimum: the production costs only. Every cent above that goal will make the artwork nicer, the result better, in short: everything more colourful and varied. Should there be many cents more than the goal, we will even be able to pay those who have volunteered to support us. And if there are many, many cents more than the goal, we will play a release concert – to organise something like this will cost an extra 500-800 Euro, roughly estimated.

This is our first crowdfunding – normally, this is done by bands who are already somehow well-established, have a four- or five-figure fanbase and other significant achievements in terms of business success.

But we have always been a little peculiar – let us see whether there are new possibilities, especially beyond the mainstream.

We produce independent from the industry, are not members of the GEMA collecting society.
