Site Gallery’s education programme provides new opportunities for young people in the region to engage with contemporary art through regular groups, one-off events, outreach activity and the creation of accessible interpretation resources.
With funding from Paul Hamlyn,iIn February 2014, we launched a weekly group for 14-19 year olds - A Society of Explorers.
“Members get an authentic, professional insight into the roles and tasks involved in the life of the gallery and can achieve the nationally recognised Arts Award qualifications through taking part.” Cassie Kill, Young People’s Programme Manager
The group works closely with Platform artists-in-residence to create their own artwork, produce writing, film and photography about the residencies and run public events. See current projects for more information.

The programme also includes free Singing in the Gallery sessions for 11-18 year olds and a youth outreach project in the east of the city in partnership with The University of Sheffield.
