Under the auspices of Adapt4EE European-funded project (FP7), a Vocabulary Camp will be organized on "Energy Efficiency in Buildings". This is the first series of a VoCamps that will be organized in the context of Adapt4EE and will take place on 15-16 November 2012 in Thessaloniki, Greece. The VoCamp event will be organized and chaired by Dr.Dimitrios Tzovaras from CERTH/ITI (Centre for Research & Technology Hellas / Information Technologies Institute), which is also the Coordinator of the Adapt4EE project.

What

The Vocabulary Camp will focus on the delivery of ontologies that can be used for the analysis of the Building Performance in terms of its Energy Efficiency. Focus will be given to domains, in which vocabularies and ontologies used are not mature yet. The ultimate goal will be to deliver or enrich existing ontologies that can be used in various stages of the Building Lifecycle and especially on the early design stages. The 1st VoCamp will address both Simulation & Management systems and ontologies will be created for multiple factors that contribute to the Energy Consumption in Buildings, having as main catalyst the human behavior and presence (building occupants). As for all VoCamps that will be organized by Adapt4EE, background material will be available in advance to the experts towards to incrementally construct the new ontologies, which will be finally concluded on the VoCamp event.

When

The 1st VoCamp will take place on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th of November 2012.
