That’s what writers strive to do. Whether I am writing children’s books, articles, or blog posts, I keep these three words as my mantra.

But the thing nobody tells you about writing for a living is that a great deal of the work that must be done is NOT writing — marketing, social media, researching  publishing options, and determining submission strategies are just a few examples. Not to mention the personal demons we must slay — doubt, frustration, uncertainty, motivation.

My blog is loaded with inspirational posts from fellow writers, my weekly Gratitude Sunday series and much more. I formed the 12 x 12 picture book writing community as a way to motivate myself and others to meet their writing goals. The For Writers section is full of resources on all aspects of writing, including digital publishing. And finally, if you need to get away from it all, I’m running a writer’s retreat in Florence, Italy this spring.

Beyond the website, I share additional tips, resources, opportunities and inspiration with writers on my mailing list.
