How do I get my software to use it?

You tell your software to use a Proxy Server, and enter the settings we send you in your Welcome Email.  If your software doesn't have these settings, you set it in Internet Explorer instead, and MS Windows then tells your software to use the Big-G Stealth Extractor that way.

Is it a Proxy Server?

The Big-G Stealth Extractor is NOT a Proxy Server.  In order to make it easy for anyone to use, we designed it so that you use the "Proxy Server" settings in your software, because virtually all software has these settings, and those that don't can achieve the same result by configuring Internet Explorer.  This eliminates the need for costly or complicated integrations.

What happens if I try to surf the web with it as if it were a Proxy Server?

As The Big-G Stealth Extractor is NOT a Proxy Server you will get error messages if you try to use it as a Proxy Server.  The "Proxy Server" settings are just there as a low cost and easy way to get you connected quickly.

How fast can I really send my queries?

The Big-G Stealth Extractor is designed to accept 1000QPM.  However you may not necessarily always be able to achieve these speeds due to limitations of your software or computer or network.  For example, if your software has been designed to send a few queries per minute, it may not be able to handle sending, processing and logging so many queries.  Getting a new, up to date computer with more memory and a faster unfragmented disk could help.  With popular SEO Software like AWR, we have benchmarked it on some PC's updating at 350QPM, and have other clients with custom software running at 1000QPM.  On the other hand, we have also seen AWR only being able to update on some computers at 100QPM.  But note this is still 33 times faster than normal!

How does the pricing work?

Pricing works on a "metered" principle.  You estimate the number of GET Requests you're likely to do in a month and sign up for the plan that covers that many.  Unused GET Requests are NOT carried over to the next month. More details can be found in the Big-G Stealth Extractor Pricing Plans.

If you use more than your allocation in a month, your account is automatically suspended by default. Overage of your account can be enabled upon request and is subject to an overage fee.

What constitutes a "GET Request"?

When your web browser (or automated software) sends a request to website to display a page, that page is likely to contain multiple elements, eg graphics, JavaScript and other files.  To display or interpret each of those files requires a separate GET, POST*, or CONNECTION* Request. A typical web page therefore could need anything between 5 and 50 Requests.  We automatically exclude easily identifiable graphics and JavaScript from the counts.  Also some scraping software is designed to exclude these kinds of extraneous files too.  Hence you might find that a typical web page consumes perhaps 5 to 15 GET Requests on your account.  We strongly advise you take a Free Trial first so you can get an idea of what your actual average GET usage would be like, so that you can sign up for the correct paid plan, and avoid overage charges.

* POST and CONNECTION Requests count toward your GET Request limit as they are still Requests that must be anonymized by our service.

How do I know how much I'm using during the month?

You will receive a daily report by email with your usage.

Does it work with any other Search Engines like Yahoo?

No, the Big-G Stealth Extractor has been built for Google and Bing only.  Depending on demand, we may develop a similar service for Yahoo in the future.

Which Google & Bing domains are supported?

Most country domains, eg google.co.uk, google.de, google.fr etc.  If you come across one that isn't supported that you need you can open a Support Ticket and an engineer will evaluate if we can add that domain.  All local Bing countries are supported.

Which countries is it available in?

At the moment, we have Big-G Stealth Extractors physically located in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany.

Can it handle huge updates, eg millions of queries?

Although it can, it may not be economic to do so.  The Big-G Stealth Extractor has been designed specifically to bring very fast updates "to the masses".  Very fast updates have always been available via our Parallel Proxy Servers but to get the fastest speeds, you needed the largest plans which was cost-prohibitive to most smaller agencies and freelancers.  At a certain point, it becomes more economic for you to use a Parallel Private Proxy Server Plan instead, perhaps a custom plan.  You can submit a Pre-Sales ticket to discuss with us.

What if my software usually checks other Search Engines AS WELL AS Google/Bing?

You may need to change the way you configure or structure your application and project settings.  Depending on the software you use, it may want to send all its traffic via what it thinks is the "Proxy Server", ie the Big-G Stealth Extractor service.  But any traffic sent to anywhere except Google or Bing will result in errors.  Therefore you'd need to change your settings to ensure only traffic for Google & Bnig goes via the "Proxy Server" and all other traffic, including software updates, go through the normal connection.  This could vary from package to package.  Our Support Team will endeavour to help you, and in some circumstances it may not be possible or involve long workarounds.  A Free Trial can help you evaluate, but this is why we recommend the Big-G Stealth Extractor is used only by customers who check exclusively Google & Bing results only.

Can I have a Free Trial?

Yes, just click the "Free Trial" button in the footer or near the top of this page.  Free Trial accounts are available for up to 7 days, and have strict limits on the number of queries you can send through them per day.  This is because the Trial accounts are designed to help you evaluate the service for yourself, eg how would you configure your software, how fast can you run queries, how many GET Requests you would actually use, are the results as expected - not to send millions of queries for free :-)
