How would I describe myself?

I’m a foodie cookin’, goodie bakin’, organic livin’, charity givin’, tree huggin’ type of gal. Queen of Sarcasm & Full Time Foodie driven by opportunity and experience. Culinary school dreamer. Owned home vending bakery and also the founder/organizer of the Northwest Indiana Food Swap.

In my world of social media…

I have been blogging for seven years, with this food blog beginning in the Spring of 2011. All of my previous blogs eventually pinnacled to food discussion, so naturally, Food (Just Sayin’) was born. I enjoy covering all things food: local foods, organics, product comparisons, chefs, festivals, events, recipes…and sometimes I just want to get up on my soapbox and be sure to let the world know how I feel about certain topics.

I am active not only with blogging, Twitter and Facebook but also network with many other bloggers in my area, online and offline.  I have attended numerous blogging conferences, workshops and brand events over the years (including BlogHer 09, 10 and 11, IzeaFest, WordCamp Chicago and Brand/Bloggers Summit Chicago.) I have worked with brands like Feld Entertainment (Disney on Ice, Monster Jam, Ringling Brothers), Chevrolet/Cadillac, Stonyfield Farms, Build a Bear and many more. I have also done live feed, being a guest on Momma Cuisine LIVE, reporting for Chicagonista LIVE and guest cooking in the “Battle of the Sexes Cooking Combat” at  Kenmore Studios in Chicago.  Currently, I am a Stonyfield Farms Yogetter.  Being extremely PR friendly, I mostly enjoy working with brands who show a true interest in a mutual relationship and are relevant to my foodie lifestyle. In my world, travel and food go hand in hand. When you understand what people eat, you understand people. I am open to planned or last minute travel opportunities to cover food related events.

I also enjoy doing live coverage of culinary events. According to Hashtracking, I have been among the top tweeters of the National Restaurant Association Show and the Dig-IN Indiana. For numerous years, I’ve also covered events such as the Good Food Fest in Chicago and also, Chicago Gourmet. I have participated in a plethora of restaurant gatherings, including No Child Hungry, Blue Chip Beer Fest, #Foodiechats and The French Pastry School Experience, along with several menu preview evenings.
