FAQ

Tickets & Wristbands

Q: “I’m under 18 but I really like lots of the bands, can I come please?”

A: We’re delighted to say that as long as you are 14 or over, then yes, you can. In this new format we’re excited to be able to offer a limited number of 14+ tickets available for anyone aged 14-17 (as on 11th April 2015 – so if you’re 17 now, but you’ll be 18 on or by 11th April, then you must buy an 18+ ticket. Likewise if you’re 13 now, but will be 14 on or by 11th April, then you can buy a 14+ ticket). Each venue has a different restriction on what time anyone aged 14+ can remain in their venue, so please check the venues’ page for details, to help you decide if you want to come. Rest assured you’ll be able to see plenty of bands.

Q: Does a wristband get you into every show?

A: YES, but subject to venue capacity. So if there’s a particular band you REALLY want to see, then we suggest heading to that venue nice and early. We handpick ALL the bands who play Swn, and we think they’re all top notch, so don’t despair if a venue’s full (which can happen from time to time) – go explore!

Q: Will tickets be sold at the weekend?

A: If we’re not sold out in advance, then yes, they will be on sale at the Wristband Exchange. However, if you think you are going to come to Swn, we definitely recommend you buy your ticket beforehand as our last event sold out about a week in advance. Regardless, if there are tickets on sale on the day, they will be more expensive than our advance tickets.

Q: “I only want to see_______, can I get a ticket just for them?”

A: NO and YES. You can’t buy tickets for any individual shows in advance. However, if on the day there’s room at the venue then, at our venue managers discrection, you can pay cash on the door to go to that venue only. That won’t include CLWB IFOR BACH or FOUR BARS AT DEMPSEYS which will be strictly wristbands only. However, it’s highly unlikely that we’ll allow any cash sales on the day and most probable that the whole event will be wristband only. We’ll confirm this in the week of the event via social media.

Venues & Gigs

Q: How accessible is DimSwn?

A: Each of our venues pages have specific accessibility information on them, but if you have any questions about venues or getting around Cardiff, don’t hesitate to email us at info(at)swnfest.com Please also make us aware if you have any particular conditions or issues so we can endeavour to make your day and night as open and as much fun as possible.

Q: How close to each other are Swn’s venues?

A:  All venues are eminently walkable.  With so many bands on over the day though, you might want to bring some decent shoes to dash about in. Check our venues page for a full Map.

Q: Will you be posting set times in advance?

A: Absolutely. And we don’t charge for schedules either. It takes us a lot of time to cram and organise where everyone is playing and when, but we will be announcing the full schedule before the event, so do look out on the website nearer the time and print yourself one out. There will also be a Swn planner on our iPhone app too, and we’ll print some schedules for you to pick up at the Wristband Exchange.

Q: Is there anything to do after the bands have finished?

A: Heck yes. There’ll be plenty of DJs performing  and there will be plenty of Swn-based nights at Clubs, plus of course, there are dozens of places to party  in Cardiff ’til the small hours, most of which minutes away from Swn venues and some of whom will offer free (or discounted) entry with a Swn wristband . We’ll publish plenty of recommendations in our schedule.

Q:  Can I volunteer for Swn?

A: Yes! There will be a small team of volunteers at this year’s event. There’s a variety of stuff you can help with such as meeting and greeting the bands, loading and decorating the venues, checking wristbands or working at the wristband exchange or even doing a stint at it all. We’d love your arms, legs or heads to give us a hand in making the day run as smoothly and fun as possible. Email us at info(at)swnfest(dot)com if you’re a keen bean.
