Having trouble getting your kids to eat their greens?
Kids Will Love Our Green Smoothie Recipes! Are you struggling to get your children to eat plenty of leafy green vegetables or ANY vegetables for that matter? Would they rather eat candy or processed sugar rather than a piece of fruit? Are they missing out on all those plant based proteins and nutrients that every growing body needs for optimum health? If so, you are not alone. Getting children to eat healthy, balanced meals is a concern that MANY parents have. They are especially concerned about the lack of fruits and vegetables their kids are eating and it is no wonder... modern convenience foods marketed to kids are lacking in nutritional value. As a result children are not developing tastes or cravings for the nutritional powerhouse foods they need the most...fresh fruits and leafy green vegetables. You want your kids to get a healthy start in life without falling prey to the Standard American Diet (SAD) but if you can't get them to eat fruits and vegetables what can you do? The Green Smoothie Recipes for Kids e-book includes delicious, kid friendly, "green" smoothie recipes that kids are sure to love and request daily. A green smoothie is basically a blended drink that combines fresh fruits, natural sweeteners (if needed), and the vegetables, especially the leafy green variety that many children have an aversion to otherwise. Here are few of the yummy recipes you can look forward to:
Kids Love Green Smoothies! The best thing about green smoothies is that they cleverly disguise what might otherwise be unfavorable ingredients. Kids will love these smoothies from the first sip and may never know they are drinking their vegetables unless you choose to tell them! If you can't get your kids to eat spinach or kale in their dinner salad, you will no doubt be amazed to see them relishing these very same ingredients inside a fruit smoothie. Serving a green smoothie with dinner each night will give your kids some much needed nutrition and it will give you some peace of mind.
Our recipes were designed with kids in mind. Of course this doesn't mean that
adults won't love every sip...it just ensures that kids will too! These smoothies are so
nutritious they can serve as a meal replacement if needed.
Green Smoothies Are Nutritious! Because green smoothies incorporate fresh fruits and veggies they are usually high in vitamins A, C, K, E as well as calcium and fiber. The darker, leafy greens also provide a variety of important phytonutrients like beta-carotene and lutein, which protect our cells from damage. Some even contain small amounts of Omega-3 fats that are important to brain health and functions. Most experts agree that we need to eat fresh fruits and veggies every day. The USDA recommends that we eat at least 3 cups of the leafy green variety every week. What many people don't typically know though is that the cell walls of those leafy greens are incredibly durable and hard for the body to break apart. Chewing really well helps to "break" the cell walls and an allow access to the nutrition inside but unfortunately few people chew their food that well, especially children. This is just another reason my green smoothies are so wonderful. Using a blender to pulverize the greens breaks these cell walls apart and gives us a nutrient boost we would not otherwise get. The blender "chews" the greens for you!
