FRIDAY

OUTDOOR FILM: Who said the outdoor film season was over? (That was us, actually.) It's not! Mt. Pleasant Main Street will be showing The Pricess Bride this evening in Lamont Park at 7:30 p.m. Free.

FOOD & DRINK: The crab-eating season is drawing to a close, so catch all the last opportunities you can. Tonight and tomorrow, enjoy five large blue crabs paired with corn on the cob, potato salad, and a pitcher of beer or two glasses of rose wine at the Blue Crab Summit at Johnny’s Half Shell (400 North Capitol Street NW). 5-10 p.m. $60 (plus tax and tip).

SATURDAY

THE STATE FAIR YOU DIDN'T KNOW WE HAD: If you didn't know D.C. had a State Fair, well, we do. And it's today! This year's D.C. State Fair will take place as part of the Barracks Row Fall Festival along Eighth Street SE. So come out from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for contests involving funny-looking fruits and vegetable, demonstrations on everything from home-brewing to bee-keeping, and much more. Free.

CELEBRATING 17TH STREET: After you're done on Capitol Hill, head on over to the 17th Street Festival in Dupont Circle, which will take place from noon to 6 p.m. from Riggs Place to P Street NW. Free.

BOOK IT TO THE NATIONAL MALL: If you're not all out-festivaled, head down to the National Mall for the two-day National Book Festival. If you are, skip to the next item. (It's like Choose Your Own Adventure!)

FOOD TRUCKS GALORE: Celebrate D.C.'s growing food truck movement with Trucktoberfest, the D.C. Food Truck Association's annual celebration of mobile cuisine. Over 40 food trucks will be hand at Union Market (1309 Fifth Street NE) for the celebration from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Free.

ROLLER DERBY: Today at 4 p.m. the D.C. All-Stars face Bear City Roller Derby's Berlin Bombshells at 4 p.m., followed by City Slickers against Suburbanites at 5:45 p.m. The games take place at the Armory (2001 East Capitol Street SE), and the post-bout celebration takes place at Kelly's Irish Times. Tickets are $12 at the door or at Ticketmaster.

GO SANS CAR: Today is officially Car-Free Day, so how about you enjoy the weather and ride a bike?

SUNDAY

FIESTA: If you recovered from yesterday's festivalthon, head down to Pennsylvania Avenue NW between Ninth and 14th Streets for this year's installment of Fiesta D.C. 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Free.

COFFEE & BIKES: Jump on your bike and head to Qualia Coffee at 10 a.m. (3917 Georgia Avenue NW) for the Second Annual Coffee Bike Crawl. You'll hit four coffee shops, and likely not sleep until Tuesday.

BEER & BARKS: This is new: a dog-friendly beer festival. March on down to Crystal City's Northern Green (1405 Crystal Drive) to the inaugural Pups and Pilsners outdoor beer festival. $15 gets you three beer-tasting tickets and one full beer. 2-6 p.m.

>> And much more in movies, arts, jazz, and hip-hop.
