The first subtropical storm of the season has formed. Some weekend impacts.
For updates all morning, follow me on Twitter and Facebook!
The first subtropical storm of the season, Ana, has developed off the Carolina coast. This storm will have some impact on our area heading into the weekend and early next week. Today will be comfortably warm and mostly sunny. Good weather for the WWII Flyover happening along the National Mall around noon.
Ana will remain fairly stationary, off the Carolina coast, through much of the weekend, but our humidity will begin to increase overnight due to the subtropical storm. With the increase in humidity, patchy, dense fog is possible overnight.Skies will start off cloudy, Saturday, with a passing sprinkle possible. Some sunshine is expected tomorrow afternoon with warm and muggy conditions - highs in the lower 80s. Mother's Day will feature warm and muggy conditions, again, with late day showers and thunderstorms possible. The threat for storms continues into early next week. A strong cold front will help push this system off into the Atlantic, Tuesday. Expect drier and cooler air by midweek next week. Have a great weekend! Happy Mother's Day, moms!
