The Commonwealth Award for Creative Learning
Plimoth Plantation was the recipient of Massachusetts' highest honor for organizations or individuals making "extraordinary contributions in education, economic vitality, and quality of life in communities across the state."
In a February 2011 ceremony at the State House in Boston, people gathered from all across the State to "celebrate the extraordinary achievements of the cultural leaders, artists, and philanthropists who make Massachusetts a better place through their creativity and commitment." Plimoth's Commonwealth Award is in the category of Creative Learning. The award is presented biennially to recognize exceptional achievement in the arts, humanities and sciences.
