When I started producing the early Klixxx Magazines in 2000, there was no such thing as blogging, no social networking…it’s already hard to believe and you start wondering how we ever managed…but then it was also before the TGP phenomenon started, and if you wanted to see something you had to pay for it…what a concept…
As you’ve read the magazines I’ve produced over the years you’ve gained a great general knowledge of what was deemed most important at the time in terms of developing, building and promoting sites, acquiring traffic, choice and presentation of content, tips, tricks and tools, the science of SEO and SEM, B2B and B2C marketing techniques and on and on. In the past year you’ve seen me include features every month, on marketing through blogging, Twitter, Facebook, email, video…incorporating all the latest techniques in response to the ever changing ecommerce landscape…
As traffic comes more and more from large warehouse suppliers dealing with publishers, advertisers and consumers, we continue to evolve our focus and continue the fight for market share and revenue. Think there are no more affiliates? Head over to Andreas Bischoff’s European Summit in Prague this September – you’ll meet enough affiliate webmasters to know the market is changing, but certainly not dead. It is interesting to note that European programs and European webmasters were different from day one – there were no easy PPS programs, everything was rev-share where the webmasters shared the risk with the program owners, and if they sent scam joins they didn’t get paid. European webmasters knew it was ‘work’ since the beginning- and they are still in the game; still making money…Unlike their North American counterparts, who when being an affiliate meant real work, all went back to their day jobs…Traffic sources will continue to change as we move forward, and I’ll continue to have our great writers cover all aspects of it for you.
We give you a number of marketing options to consider in every issue, from Twitter through blogging, taking a hard look at site presentation, customer satisfaction, and back to basics talking about conversion again. I’m going to be exposing you to what is happening in the online games markets, delve into what is happening with gambling and where it can be promoted, and continue a heavy emphasis on mobile expansion and monetization, and will provide some real data for all of these topics.
I’m planning new articles and want to consider everything you will need to know – from adding payment methods, considering join packages to match them, revisiting the necessity of recurring billing, conversion, special retention considerations, cancellation and upgrade marketing – every way you can increase revenues I guess! I want both questions and answers from all my readers!
