NRC-Lausanne
OverviewNRC â Lausanne is part of Nokiaâs global research network. The unit was founded on the shores of lake Geneva in 2008. Our office, as well as that of many other multinational companies, start-ups and SMEs, is located on the Innovation Square at the campus of EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne). NRC-Lausanne operations are based on seamless collaboration both with the surrounding research ecosystem as well as company internal stakeholders. To list a few examples of our collaboration modes, we run bi-lateral projects with selected research partners, participate in consortium research initiatives and offer internship or project opportunities for students. The research of NRC-Lausanne focuses on contextual intelligence, pervasive sensing and other related matters, such as privacy enhancing technologies. Lausanne Data Collection Campaign (LDCC) collected rich and unique mobile data set - enabling various research questions to be addressed, related e.g. to contextual intelligence, data capture, and computational social science. We also enable open innovation by sharing our data with external academic parties. Mobile Data Challenge 2012 invited academic parties to innovate in the form of data analytics contest either in open or dedicated categories. This attracted globally more than 500 researchers, also from many leading universities and institutions. |
