School of History joins the world's top 50 history departments
Wednesday April 29th
The fifth edition of QS World University Rankings by Subject - published today - found that 19 subject areas at QMUL rank among the world’s best. History has joined the top 50 this year. The QS World University Rankings by Subject is considered to be among the most trusted of league tables. Rankings are based on academic and employer reputations and research citations per faculty (the number of times the research is credited in the work of other academics).
Professor Miri Rubin, Head of the School of History, said: I am delighted that the 2015 QS ranking - based on the survey of 3400 universities worldwide - has placed the School of History among the top 50 Departments in the world, at 46. Such recognition reflects the excellence of research and teaching in our School, for which we have a great deal of local evidence and widespread recognition. It is most satisfying to have this important badge too, alongside our colleagues in English and Law.
