WHY DO YOU CELEBRATE YURI'S NIGHT?

On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin entered a realm where no man had gone before and ventured into space.  Now, 51 years later, humanity remembers and celebrates this event as an important step into the future.  But with over 100,000 people celebrating last year, Yuri’s Night wants to ask: Why do you celebrate Yuri’s Night?  This year, Yuri’s Night is collecting and sharing the responses to this question with the world.  Do you want to share your reason for celebrating?  Find out how you can spread your passion for Yuri’s Night to the rest of the world below.  Who knows, you could share something new with fellow fans or maybe even inspire someone to join the cause!

Things to keep in mind:
  • All videos must be 30 to 60 seconds long
  • Start with the official intro slide and end with the official credits slide for 4 seconds each
  • This does not count towards the length of the video
  • Feel free to add your own credits at the end as well, before the official slide
  • The main content must contain the phrase “I celebrate Yuri’s Night because…”
  • Include the speaker's name in the video, and the location (city & country), as well as credits and affiliations, in the description of the video.

For full requirements, please see the General Information page. Grab opening and closing slides for your video from the Resources page.
