Vassar Admissions

Vassar meets 100% of the full demonstrated need of all admitted students, international or domestic, for all four years. Vassar adheres to a need-blind admission policy for all first-year students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. This means that admission decisions for those applicants are made without regard to their financial situation. The goal of the college is to make a Vassar education affordable and accessible to all admitted students.

You do not have to be wealthy or even well off to attend Vassar. Financial aid is awarded to nearly 60% of Vassar students, exclusively on the basis of need. In addition to meeting 100% of all demonstrated financial need for all admitted students, Vassar eliminates or reduces loans in the aid awards of students from low-income families. In 2014-2015, our students are receiving financial aid awards ranging from $1,200 to over $60,000, depending on their financial situations. Their families’ annual incomes ranged from $0 to $270,000.

Yellow Ribbon Program

As a member of the Yellow Ribbon Program, Vassar has an agreement with the Veterans Administration to cover the cost of tuition and fees in excess of the amounts payable under the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 for all veterans admitted to the college.
