The Next Civil War?
By: UnknownRense.com. Roguegovernment.com. Infowars.com. What exactly is it that these domain names all have in common? They are just three of the many radicalized news sites that have been exponentially increasing in popularity throughout cyberspace. Currently, Alexa.com ranks Infowars.com as the 968th most visited website in the U.S. Similar sites trail close behind. Four years ago the U.S State Department released a document entitled “How to Identity Misinformation,” in which it warned readers to steer clear of sites like Rense and Infowars. So why the recent spike in popularity? Are these “radical” alternative media platforms dangerous?
According to the Anti-Defamation League the U.S. is currently experiencing a disturbing “resurgence of the militia movement.” As the world begins to embrace a more global economy the days of independent countries are numbered. What’s ultimately to come is a world directed by a single governmental body such as the United Nations. Though we see this as mandatory on a planet dominated by war, poverty, and fear of nuclear annihilation. Others see it as a threat. These people are willing to fight and die for U.S sovereignty and to uphold the Constitution, which is slowly being destroyed. An increasing number of these dissenters are organizing themselves into lethal militarized units whom are actively training across the country in preparation for an inevitable revolution as they see it. They train with high-powered rifles and many bring years of ex-military expertise with them. More dangerous than their marksmanship is their ability to freely disseminate information across the world via the Internet.
Militia members frequent sites like Infowars, using them as breeding grounds for recruitment and to voice opinions. Comments referring to Bush and Obama as “murdering Zionist pieces of Sh**” are all too commonplace. The reason why these Militiamen have such free access to so many minds is because the corporate media has failed this country too many times. No matter if you enjoy Fox News or the New York Times you’re still subscribing to the same overall agenda. This often masked agenda directs people to support the troops, be patriotic, escalate the war on terror, and make the investors happy. The American people are being fed a constant stream of propaganda and lies from the multi-billion dollar corporations that shape public opinion and determine our foreign and domestic policy. Fraudulent New York Times articles written by Judith Miller and Michael Gordon were often cited by high-ranking administration officials as reasons to invade Iraq. As thousands more in the Middle East are butchered by the U.N.’s army, viewers are leaving CNN and turning to the Internet. There they are greeted with a perspective so opposed to the mainstreams that it often tosses them deep into a dark world consumed by conspiracy and evil.
Technology has advanced to a level of such sophistication that a successful violent revolution is a near impossibility. We, as the next generation of leaders, need to put our natural human greed aside and create a more inhabitable world for everyone. We need to produce a society that is governed by peace not war. In order to achieve this we must be willing to make many sacrifices and treat everyone humanely. As technology further improves, this radical shift in thought can become a reality.
As the poor get poorer and anger continues to spread like a forest fire the government is going to be forced into a domestic bloodbath that hasn’t been witnessed since the Civil War. Until the world’s elite can agree to these terms, turn off your TV and toss that newspaper. Just make sure you recycle it.
