Though most of Art Presence Art Center’s art exhibits feature works created by our artist members, we enjoy hosting guest exhibits of art created by our neighbors from time to time. We are delighted to announce our May 2015 Guest Exhibit: ART’clectic Artisan’s Market! It’s sort of a family affair – we share a few members with the group, but there will be plenty of new faces and artworks for you to enjoy.
Created in the summer of 2014, ART’clectic is a group of Southern Oregon artists and artisans who meet monthly to discuss marketing their creations. Holding popup events was one idea that intrigued the group. You may remember seeing them in December 2014 when they presented their first ART’Clectic Artisan’s Market at the Oddfellow’s Hall on Oregon Street in Jacksonville during Victorian Christmas Days.
The eclectic mix of offerings at this ART’Clectic Artisan’s Market include handcrafted items, fine art, cottage furniture, and books by local authors. The exhibit opens May 1 and will be on display every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm through the end of the month. Join us in welcoming them to Art Presence at a reception for the artists on Saturday, May 2 from 1–3pm. Please come and enjoy their fine art and unique, handmade gift items, displayed in a boutique-style setting. Perhaps you will find that perfect gift for Mother’s Day!
ART’clectic plans two more popup events later this year, one in August during the Britt Classical Music Festival and again in December during Victorian Christmas Days. Both artisan’s markets will take place at the IOOF, Jacksonville Oddfellows Hall on the corner of Oregon Street and Main Street.
To view photos of items being offered and to learn about the artists, please visit eventsARTclectic.blogspot.com or see their EventsArtclectic Facebook group page.
