The Watauga Democrat highlighted Dr. Ed Rosenberg, professor of sociology and director of graduate programs in gerontology and sociology at Appalachian State University, in a recent article.

Dr. Rosenberg was a prominent speaker at the annual Legislative Brunch, an event hosted by the High Country Senior Tar Heel Legislature in partnership with the High country Area Agency on Aging. The event recognizes the work of the General Assembly members serving the area.

Dr. Rosenberg spoke on the growth of older populations and the challenge this poses for North Carolina and the United States.

Dr. Rosenberg organized several gerontology programs at Appalachian, including an online graduate certificate in gerontology, designation as a state-approved trainer of assisted living facility administrators and an online master's degree in gerontology.
