spacer FEATURED RESOURCE: The Connection: Strategies for Creating and Operating 501(c)(3)s, 501(c)(4)s, and Political Organizations The third edition of our popular guide explains the different roles and functions of charities, social welfare organizations, PACs and other types of nonprofits.

We provide resources to help you better understand the rules of advocacy as they relate to influencing legislation, ballot measures, electoral activity, executive and administrative advocacy, and litigation. If you have an interest in any of these areas, check out the page listed on the left to learn more and to view all of the resources available to you.

A majority of our resources provide an overview of federal law.  These resources apply to nonprofits working on policy at every level of government – federal, state and local.  Groups working at the state and local level may need to comply with additional rules as well. Therefore, we offer a collection of state resources to help your organization navigate the rules that apply to you locally.

Take a look at the resources available. Many of our resources are available in Spanish.
