Internet Stats Today

The Africa Region has new population data for 2015. Internet user figures are also being updated as well as broadband speed numbers for March 2015. Some African countries show impressive growth in Internet users, and the reason for this is the popularity of prepaid mobile Internet.

According to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), Bangladesh has reached 40,800,000 Internet users in August, 2014. The largest part of them correspond to 39,300,000 mobile Internet users.  WiMAX providers account for 271,831 subscribers. Internet users in China are up 2.3 percent totaling 632 million on June 30, 2014, from 618 million at year-end of 2013, according to CNNIC statistics report. China is part of the five BRICS countries, together with Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa. This group of countries are considered the five mayor emerging economies in the world.
