Frequently asked questions
What is ITIL?
ITIL stands for "Information Technology Infrastructure Library." It's currently the most widely used framework for ensuring adequate competency and integrity of IT systems in organizations. ITIL consists of procedures, tasks and checklists that apply to IT situations that are widely relevant regardless of industry or organization. It establishes a baseline for planning, implementation, and measurement. It is used to demonstrate compliance and to measure improvement.
How do I know what type of training I need?
Take a look at our ITIL curriculum map to the left. We've organized courses both according to specialty and career progression.
How do you pronounce "ITIL"?
"EYE-tull."
Are you accredited or officially recognized to train on ITIL?
Yes, we are an ITIL Accredited Training Organization (ATO) which is the official designation for professional ITIL trainers.
Can I become ITIL certified?
No, because ITIL is a framework of guidelines, not a certifiable standard. However, the ISO/IEC 20000 certification (ISO standard for IT Service Management) is largely built upon ITIL best practices. If you are interested in obtaining this certification, contact us to discuss.
