Whether an organization is using the entire suite of Office 365, or just upgrading to the latest versions of Office and Outlook, nonprofits are already benefiting from deploying both solutions, and using Box to make their content more accessible and secure.

Why Use Box and Microsoft?

Nonprofit IT teams are budget-strapped yet on the hook to enable collaboration between internal and external stakeholders, while also protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the organization's data and content.

If a tool makes collaboration difficult, there is always the risk that stakeholders will turn to unsanctioned, consumer-grade tools that do not include robust security and privacy controls.

Managing the creation, management, and sharing of all content using just one set of tools often isn't workable or cost-effective. That's why many organizations are now deploying Box together with Microsoft to meet the needs of IT, managers, and users. Content can be created using familiar Microsoft tools, and stored and shared securely via Box, which is directly integrated with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

How Box Integrates with Microsoft Tools

Several integrations now exist between Box and the latest versions of Microsoft's productivity suite:

Office 2013 Desktop Integrations

From the Office 2013 desktop apps, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, users can create, open, edit, and share Box files without ever leaving their Microsoft environment. With a direct integration and an intuitive user experience, users now have access to their entire Box account, right from the Office File menu.

Securely Manage Attachments in Outlook

Box for Outlook 2013 is a plug-in that helps simplify and secure email workflow. With Box for Outlook on the desktop, users can share files already stored on Box, upload and share files stored on their computer, or have Outlook automatically convert outgoing attachments to Box shared links — all without leaving the Outlook Compose Message window.

Sharing and Access with Outlook for iOS

When you've got content that needs to be shared, users can leverage the native integration between Box and the Outlook mobile application. From directly within the Outlook app on Apple devices, users can view and select content from Box that can be easily attached to emails. Users can also get a single view of their recently received email attachments, includ
