Marik pushed open the oak door to the office space that was now his, he leaned in with his arms holding him up as he grasped the doorframe and stared into the room just imagining how this was once the space that Gammel had called his own. Marik closed his eyes as he thought about how the former Master had been poisoned right in this very space. It was a humbling and worrisome thought to consider that he could be killed in here as well. A soft yet dark presence was felt to his left, Marik sighed and opened his eyes. Dark red eyes blinked above a black face mask,

"We will not allow the same thing to happen to you my Lord."

Marik pushed himself up, his face still grim and vision locked ahead on the room before him.

"I know Riza...I know. Send for some hot water, make sure the others have the banquet hall prepared."

Riza bowed and melted into the shadows just as quickly as she had appeared. With a sigh he stepped into the room and shut the door. The office was simple as it had just been cleared, there was only a light oak desk with a high back padded chair behind it and before the desk was a small black couch. On the wall was a map of Hyrule and a partial map of Termina, three bookshelves were left empty other than a picture of Gammel in his prime. There was a window that allowed light from the courtyard outside, it was a nice view of the City but nothing amazing. He crossed the room with thoughts to make the room more comfortable as he spent time there. He opened the door at the back of the room and revealed the way to his bedchamber, nothing like working from home. The room was warmer than the office as there was a fire place, his bed was large(something he might appreciate later) and next to it was a night table. Both the bedframe and table were made of a rich dark cherry wood, as well as the mantle of the fireplace. Two windows gave way for light to stream in and a couple sconses held torches that could be lit for the night hours. Over on the far left of the room was a bathtube behind a partition. To the right of the bed was a walk-in closet, moving quickly he entered the closet and could see many robes and pants, most were white or gold as was the usual garb of the Grand Master. There were several that were black which brought some comfort to him.

At the end of the closet was also a large mirror, he looked at himself and could see the gore of battle still upon him. He looked awful, he began to strip down as he heard the sound of water being poured in tub. He poked his head out and couldn't see anyone within the room, he walked out stark naked and made his way to the bath. The water was steaming and as he slid into the tub the heat instantly drew away his exhaustion and aches like poison from a wound. The water changed color as the blood, grim and dirt from battle washed away, soon his hair was back to its bright white natural color rather than a dirty bloody grey. He took his time and soon he was out and drying himself off. He pulled on a pair of black pants with matching boots, grabbing a soft feeling gold sleeveless tunic he messed his hair around and soon had it falling around his shoulders in his usual way. On the back of the closet door was white cape with the signet of the Apostles upon it, he tied the cape around his neck and flourished it for a moment before stepping out and then was soon closing the door of the bedchamber behind him. He crossed the office space and stopped at the door, he looked back around the office for a moment before speaking softly to himself,

"I'll do you proud old man..."

As he turned the cape fluttered behind him and he pulled the door closed. He headed towards the banquet hall area, now there was this reception to deal with...

Marik from the shadows he was followed silently by a form that mirrored his footsteps as he neared his office chamber. He shut the door to his office area and let out a small sigh,

"Today did not go as planned at all Marluixa."

The Sheikah stepped out from the shadows and gave the Grand Master a slight bow before removing his face mask and head covering. Soft locks of long pink hair flowed around the man's shoulders and his piercing red eyes took in the weary Hylian before him.

"Aye, such a day will not soon be forgotten sir. You did well today despite the difficulties."

Marik crossed the room and reached into a small cabinet behind his desk and pulled out two glasses and a strong brandy. He poured the drink into both glasses and slid one towards his Sheikahn friend. He downed his drink and soon poured a second and began to sip at it as he stared off into space.

"What the hell is happening to our world Mars? Things are falling apart at the seams..."

"Such is the life of a rising star in the cosmic tide of Court."

Marik scoffed a little before taking another sip,

"I believe this star has risen as far as it can...After today I doubt the Princess has any sort of liking to me other than how I can ensure she remains in the Palace."

Marluxia ignored the drink offered to him and he stepped forward with his hands behind his back, the torch light flickering across the Sheikah's features giving him an eerie presence.

"Sir, with all due respect...I believe you may need to seek another means of bringing her in."

"One cannot do that without proper breeding....And she has her Bard after all."

"A Bard, Lord Marik, only a Bard. You have such a title that he lacks."

Marik turned and looked at the Sheikah incredulously as he set his glass hard down on the table with a dull thunk,

"One that has her heart! She only thinks of me as a war-crazy bastard who happened to kill a dragon! I have no in here, that road is barred to me now."

Marluxia looked down and away from the Hylian, not wanting to entice his anger further but to get his point truly across.

"...Then you should seek to allign yourself with Lord Stefan, Sir."

Marik rolled his eyes and turned away, taking a stance at the window as he stared off into the night.

"There are too many things to consider now...Even if he forced that upon her I'm not sure an arranged marriage so soon after the death of her 'beloved' husband would reflect well on us to the rest of the Court."

Marluxia stepped forward until he was beside Marik, in line with his peripheral vision, but it was Marik who spoke first:

"...And there's Helena to consider now too..."

"Sir, though I know you once held for her a special place within your heart...I do not believe she did the same for you."

Marik sighed and hung his head, he knew in his heart that it was true because he only had the current evidence to prove it. She had waltzed back into his life and dipped out the next chance she could...Leaving him in a sea of turmoil....For the second time. He inhaled slowly as he stepped away from the window and waved Marluxia off as he neared the door to his bedchamber.

"Enough with such thoughts...They only cloud already troubled mind. Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day of new opportunities...Goodnight my friend."

Marik shut the door and Marluxia melted back into the shadows; carefully and silent as the grave he opened the door to the office and slipped out but he left it just ever so slightly open. Leaning against the wall bathed in the moonlight was Riza, her face and head covered to where only her dark red eyes were visible. Her glance shifted to Marluxia,

"...Rough day."

Marluixa nodded as he bound his hair in it's covering once more and pulled his face mask up,

"That it was....You should go to him, melt the pains and trials of this day away with the warmth of your thighs."

Riza nodded, her insides were filled with butterflies, but she kept her eyes calm as to not betray her true feelings on the matter. Marluxia's eyes wrinkled in a smile as he placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Dearest Sister...It is our honor bound duty to see to his ascension, we do what we must. Now go to him..."

With his final words he stepped back and disappeared from sight, once she was sure that he was gone she let out a shuddering gasp of delight. She slipped into the office and shut the door softly, she pulled at the back of her head covering and it fell to the floor behind her, blonde hair fell down to her mid-back. She pulled her black tunic up over her head and with it took the face mask off as well and let it drop beside her. Her bare chest looked the color of soft honey in the torchlight. She pulled her daggers from her belt and placed them quietly on the desk, in the same fluid motion she grabbed the lone glass of brandy and downed it. She set the glass down without a sound as the fire of the liquor coursed through her bloodstream. As she stepped for the bedchamber door she pulled at her belt and like a snake shedding it's skin she stepped from her trousers and stood naked before the door. She opened the door without a sound and crossed the six feet to the bed. Marik was lying on his back, bare chest rising and falling evenly suggesting a state of near sleep.

Like a ghost she pulled the blanket back from him and she slid under the blanket and on top of him. The touch of skin was electric and warm, Marik's eyes fluttered open and he looked into her eyes. The locking of amber and blood red eyes was a moment that she could exist in for all eternity. She eased herself down and the unlocking of the door to bliss was a sweet soft moment. Soon the silent gyrating gave way to a more primal stance and bed rocked across the stone walls with a solid rapping with each thrust. The room became warm and the air clung to them so much so that one could soon not tell the difference between sweat or fluids of passion. As the moment reached it's peak she let out silent cry of bliss and pure ecstasy that perhaps only canines and birds could have truly heard it. He collapsed beside her, his chest rising and falling rapidly now. She eased herself forward onto her stomach and then rolled over to face him. She wrapped her arm across his chest and he pulled her close to him.

Not a word passed between them as they both drifted off to well deserved sleep, her final thought was that she could spend every night like this if her brother would let her. Warm honey skin matched tanned muscle and the night passed by bringing with it a peace not found on such a day.
