Launching the MEI Mentorship Program

The Web Foundation’s Mobile Entrepreneurship Initiative is glad to announce the start of its mentorship program. Aspiring mobile-technology entrepreneurs can now move along the path to success by meeting and working with successful and established professionals who have, in the past, followed the same road.  We offer our trainees a chance to be coached by one or several master entrepreneurs. Once we assign the developers of a project with a mentor, they start a collaboration where the developers report on their work and request guidance, while the mentors impart their wisdom and experience.

The goal is for the project to move from a prototype to an actual service, as the mentor helps on improving software development skills, developing a business model, finding markets, dealing with partners and competitors, handle intellectual property, finding seed funding, etc.

The program is open in priority to those who have attended our mobile entrepreneur training in Accra and later in Kumasi, but other people who fill the entry criteria will also be considered. The program is free, but required a certain level of commitment in order for the collaboration to be fruitful.
