• Happy Memorial Day!

  Wow- Where did these spring months go? It's Memorial Day weekend and the sun is shining Bright! The On-Farm Store will be open on Monday, Memorial Day holiday from 7 am - 7 pm, as well as the weekend days Sat. and Sun. 7 am - 7 pm. Stop by and pick up goat cheese for your holiday picnics and parties! WE NEED RAIN - the hay has slowed growth, the pastures are not regrowing with great speed, and my garden is slow to sprout. We have cut some of our farmers markets this year. Sad to leave old favorites - Amherst, Arlington, and Copley - Tuesday. Please look for our farmstead goat cheese in area stores and farmstands. We are still going to Copley on Friday. Visits to our farm to pick up cheese is strongly encouraged. Please contact me ----crystalbrookfarm@comcast.net - if you'd like to place an order for a quantity of cheese -- The cheese freezes well - so stock up on your destination goat cheese trip! BIG NEWS!! The book that consumed my 2014 is out next week!!! DAIRY GOAT HANDBOOK - for Backyard, Homestead and Small Farm was a labor of .. well..love! Thanks to all who helped encourage, inform, edit and review!! I will be selling copies at farmers markets, our on-farm store, and other local venues. You can order through Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Search with the title and Ann Starbard. A few pregnant goats remain in the herd - Some stragglers that will hopefully be birthing soon. I always like getting the kidding box of supplies down from the hay mow in January -- and putting it back up in June! So there are still baby goats to come see. Self guided tours are free and open during daylight hours, Wed. - Sun. Guided tours are available by appointment only.
