After receiving initial support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the video platform and mobile app VuHaus launched last month. VuHaus works with music-intensive public radio stations to build a video service so audiences can view artist interviews, in-studio performances, and live concerts, all curated on one app and website. Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Chuck Schumer introduced the Consumer Drone Safety Act on Thursday. NAB EVP of Communications Dennis Wharton said the NAB strongly supports the legislation. "It strikes the right balance by imposing meaningful guidelines on recreational use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles."

ATRN-syndicated My Cool Inventions, with hosts Akos Jankura and John Cremeans, has entered into a national television partnership with HSN. To mark the partnership, the radio show is now having a monthly contest, where affiliates who air it will now have a chance to win $5,000 if the affiliate station produces an inventor who appears on HSN with their radio show-winning product.

There have been a few roadblocks. They come in the form of ownership refusing to learn and to take any action at all.
AudioHQ has launched an "in home" targeted audio ad network, partnering with Slacker Radio upon launch. The network will be comprised of audio advertising inventory served exclusively on connected electronic devices. Slacker will be providing AudioHQ with exclusive access to its audio ad inventory across their connected home line-up. AudioHQ will soon announce additional inventory partnerships for its network.
The Board of Directors of the New York State Broadcasters Association announced that Elvis Duran has been named its 2015 Broadcaster of the Year. Duran will be honored at the Annual "Excellence in Broadcasting" awards dinner on June 22 in New York City. Duran, currently broadcasting from WHTZ/New York and syndicated in nearly 80 markets, has been in radio for 30 years.
The New York State Broadcasters Association also announced Wendy Williams as its 2015 New Yorker of the Year. Williams will also be honored at the awards dinner on June 22 in New York City. Now known for her syndicated television show, Williams previously had a successful 23-year career in New York radio.
iHeartMedia announced that Jim Lawson has been named senior vice president of programming for the Denver market. Lawson most recently served as SVP of programming for iHM's Colorado clusters in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Ft. Collins, as well as iHM's Hispanic brand manager. He has been with iHM/Clear Channel since 2001, after nearly seven years with Clear Channel predecessor, AMFM. Lawson replaces Greg Foster, who was promoted in May.
The voice of the late, great, iconic rock & roll DJ The Real Don Steele is returning to radio. In 1987, Steele collaborated with M.G. Kelly on the syndicated program Live From The '60s. The three-hour oldies program was heard on over 200 radio stations. Kelly, along with Steele's wife Shaune, have digitized the original masters and are relaunching Live From The '60s with The Real Don Steele, distributed by M.G. Kelly Productions.
South Florida newspaper the Sun-Sentinel looks at WBZT/West Palm Beach show Get Out! South Florida, a weekly program targeting the LGBT communities. Hosts Tom Hantzarides and Kendall Rumsey feel their program is sort of a "gay Today show, where we inform and we entertain." The hosts are hoping to expand their hourly show to a multi-hour one.
Jacobs Media President Fred Jacobs will present highlights from his company's Techsurvey 11 at next month's Conclave Learning Conference 40 during his presentation What Your Audience is Doing When They're Not Listening To You. Jacobs will reveal data on what listeners are doing on social media, while they continue to use traditional radio. He will present the key points that stations can use to optimize their brand and digital strategies.
