VTA Tries To Replace Transit Options With Highway Expansion on Route 85

VTA’s inherited agreement with the west valley cities requires that Highway 85 median to be reserved for Light Rail. VTA is looking to renege on the agreement and replace the median with another auto travel lane. The expansion is proposed at the expense of air quality and noise in the corridor. Fortunately Cupertino, Saratoga, and Los Gatos are taking action.
