Sutter Health Women Leaders Honored

The San Francisco Business Times (SFBT) recently recognized two Sutter Health leaders as “2015 Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business.” Sarah Krevans, chief operating officer and Julie Petrini, Bay Area CEO of hospitals share words of advice, their proudest accomplishments and more in the most recent edition.
Published annually the SFBT survey honors Bay Area women leaders in business, government and nonprofits. These women direct efforts in a range of fields, including real estate, law, technology, retail, healthcare, finance, insurance and education.

Sutter Health Affiliates Earn Prominent Electronic Health Record Recognition

Two affiliates within Sutter Health’s not-for profit network received awards honoring their electronic health record. Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, Calif. and Palo Alto Medical Foundation clinics throughout the Bay Area earned prestigious Stage 7 Awards from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), an industry authority in health care information technology.
Sutter Health will receive its awards at the 2015 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition on April 12-16, 2015, in Chicago.
“As we partner to deliver a high-value, personalized experience for patients, our electronic health record enables our care teams to make significant strides in clinical quality, safety, connectivity and efficiency,” said Sutter Health President and CEO Pat Fry. “These Stage 7 designations from HIMSS honor the complex, thoughtful work of our clinical care and information services teams to better support our more than 3 million patients and their families.”

Sutter Health Named “Owner of the Year”

Engineering News-Record (ENR) California selected Sutter Health as its 2015 “Owner of the Year” for our systemwide construction investment, innovation, sustainable design and commitment to community benefit.

Sutter Health Debuts New TV Advertisements

Today, the not-for-profit Sutter Health network unveils its 2015 advertising campaign, which includes four new TV commercials and builds upon its “We Plus You” partnership promise to patients.
In health care, few things are more important than the relationships patients share with their doctors. In clever, humorous and heartfelt ways, Sutter Health’s new campaign illustrates the strong bonds that link its physicians and patients together.
- “Confidence,” shares the story of a woman facing cancer. You can also view the Confidence video on Sutter Health’s You Tube channel.

Honorary Membership Presented to Dr. Martin Brotman for Leadership in Health Care

Martin Brotman, M.D., senior vice president of education, research and philanthropy for Sutter Health
Martin Brotman, M.D., senior vice president of education, research and philanthropy for the not-for-profit Sutter Health network, has been awarded the California Hospital Association’s (CHA) 2014 Honorary Membership in recognition of his 40-plus years of caring for patients in the San Francisco area.
Brotman began practicing gastroenterology and internal medicine in the mid-1960s. An interest in health care administration led him to Sutter Health-affiliated California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), where he served as president and CEO from 1995 to 2008. He was the founding president of Sutter’s West Bay Region and oversaw its operations from 2009 to 2011. In 2012, Brotman began his role of leading the network’s education, research and philanthropy programs.
Throughout his administrative career, Brotman continued to care for patients every week, sometimes traveling hundreds of miles to see those who lived outside of the Bay Area.
“Martin Brotman is a distinguished health care leader in California,” CHA President/CEO C. Duane Dauner said. “His visionary leadership across more than four decades has benefited countless patients. Five Sutter Health Hospital Campuses Earn 2014 Top Hospital Distinction

Today, The Leapfrog Group® named five Sutter Health hospital campuses to its annual list of Top Hospitals. The elite distinction honors hospitals that demonstrate excellence in safety and quality through the Leapfrog Hospital Survey. The Leapfrog Group awards the Top Hospital recognition to less than seven percent of all eligible hospitals.
Sutter Health hospital campuses named as Top Hospitals in 2014 include:
- Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Alta Bates campus in Berkeley
- California Pacific Medical Center, Pacific, California and St. Luke’s campuses in San Francisco
- Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center of Santa Cruz
