Undergraduate Programs
The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics offers a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering.
Our students participate in a thriving hands-on curriculum, and our graduates have achieved stellar careers in the aerospace industry. The four-year degree program provides undergraduate students with an excellent background in each of the three main areas of aerospace engineering: aerodynamics, aircraft structures, and flight dynamics and controls.
The undergraduate curriculum in aerospace engineering includes a four-year bachelor’s degree and a five-year bachelor’s and master’s degrees program through the University Scholars Program. For exceptionally talented students, the Department offers an Honors Program.
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination
As a requirement for graduation, all AE undergraduates must register and complete the Fundamental Engineering (FE) exam. AE students should take the Other Disciplines Exam because a discipline-specific exam does not exist for aerospace engineering. Students are strongly advised to register for the Fall exam in the preceding Summer.
