Students studying in mechanical engineering are actively involved in many professional and social support groups.

These groups help students in a variety of ways, including career networking and professional advising.

UA ASME The American Society of Mechanical Engineers was founded in 1880 by a small group of leading industrialists, and since then ASME has grown through the decades to include more than 120,000 members in over 150 countries worldwide. Society of Automotive Engineers – SAE International is a global association of more than 128,000 engineers and related technical experts in the aerospace, automotive and commercial-vehicle industries. Pi Tau Sigma – Pi Tau Sigma members are chosen on a basis of sound engineering ability, scholarship (upper 35%), personality, and probable future success in their chosen field of mechanical engineering. For additional information, visit the National Website.

National Society of Black Engineers – The National Society of Black Engineers, with more than 29,900 members, is one of the largest student-governed organizations in the country. Founded in 1975, NSBE now includes more than 394 college, pre-college, and technical professional/alumni chapters in the United States and abroad. The student chapter adviser is Greg Singleton. National Society of Professional Engineers – The National Society of Professional Engineers stands today as the only national organization committed to addressing the professional concerns of licensed PEs across all disciplines. For additional information, visit the National NSPE Website.

UA Society of Women Engineers – The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a not-for-profit educational and service organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering, and to be recognized for their life-changing contributions as engineers and leaders. UA Engineers Without Borders – EWB-USA supports community-driven development programs worldwide by collaborating with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while creating transformative experiences and responsible leaders.
