Students studying in mechanical engineering are actively involved in many professional and social support groups.
These groups help students in a variety of ways, including career networking and professional advising.
UA ASME – The American Society of Mechanical Engineers was founded in 1880 by a small group of leading industrialists, and since then ASME has grown through the decades to include more than 120,000 members in over 150 countries worldwide. Society of Automotive Engineers – SAE International is a global association of more than 128,000 engineers and related technical experts in the aerospace, automotive and commercial-vehicle industries. Pi Tau Sigma – Pi Tau Sigma members are chosen on a basis of sound engineering ability, scholarship (upper 35%), personality, and probable future success in their chosen field of mechanical engineering. For additional information, visit the National Website.
National Society of Black Engineers – The National Society of Black Engineers, with more than 29,900 members, is one of the largest student-governed organizations in the country. Founded in 1975, NSBE now includes more than 394 college, pre-college, and technical professional/alumni chapters in the United States and abroad. The student chapter adviser is Greg Singleton.
