As the President of the IEEE Magnetics Society, and also as the MINT Director, I am very pleased with the establishment of the Magnetics Society’s Alabama chapter.   The MINT Center has been recognized for many years for the world-top research organization in the field of magnetism and magnetic materials, and many faculty members have been active in the IEEE Magnetics Society community for years, thus it is very natural to have this chapter in Alabama.   The chapter chair is professor J.W. Harrell, Secretary is Professor Su Gupta and the Treasurer is Professor Dawen Li, and I am confident that this chapter exercise  extremely strongly its  activity in many ways.  Congratulations !
