About Infodoctour
About the Tourism Information and Documentation Resource Centres Database (INFODOCTOUR)
- The setting up of a computer-based system on tourism information and Documentation Resource centres was initiated by the Documentation Resources and Archives Section in 2002.
- From the outset, it was clear that this system should be accessible online through the UNWTO Website and with the aim of strenghtening the function of the Documentation Resources and Archives Section as a referral service.
- The objectives of INFODOCTOUR are:
- to provide a permanent mechanism enabling users worldwide to access, transfer and exchange technical tourism information; and
- to promote a networking system between the Documentation Resources and Archives Section and its institutional partners: tourism administrations, public and private bodies in the operational sector of tourism, universities, international organizations directly or indirectly concerned with tourism.
- INFODOCTOUR contains data on activities, products and services available from libraries, documentation centres, producers and distributors of databases on tourism and related fields.
- Produced and maintained by the Documentation Resources and Archives Section, INFODOCTOUR will be periodically reviewed and updated.

Suggestions and comments to update and improve INFODOCTOUR are most welcome.
