The Statistics and Tourism Satellite Account Programme has designed initiatives and tools aimed at a progressive and sustainable building of statistical capacity in countries and the development of their Systems of Tourism Statistics:

• Statistics Capacity Building Programme
  Following the ratification of the International Recommendations on Tourism Statistics 2008 (IRTS 2008) and the Tourism Satellite Account: Recommended Methodological Framework 2008 (TSA:RMF 2008), the United Nations Statistical Commission requested UNWTO to put in place an implementation programme. This prompted UNWTO to develop the Statistics Capacity Building Programme, comprising:
       -     a Regional Statistics Capacity Building Programme (R-SCBP), and
       -     a National Statistics Capacity Building Programme (N-SCBP),
