the cloffice reveal
The cloffice is officially finished! I first started off with a closet with sliding doors. I painted it using chalkboard paint and then added some storage. I then built a floating desk and added some wall mounted lighting. After adding some office accessories from The Container Store and Home Goods it was done.
Let me show you how far it has come…
The storage area to the side is starting to fill up and has stayed nice and organized.
Some craft storage was added to the shelves using kitchen storage containers. It is easy to see inside and makes a great display.
The top display shelf has some animals at the moment. It’s a great shelf for a collection!
There is plenty of room under the desk for a number of things. Our dog’s bed fits perfectly under there. On some days it has been an art gallery, other days it has been a quiet reading space complete with pillows and a blanket covering the front to keep little brothers out.
This has been one of my favorite projects to date. It has transformed my daughter’s bedroom and is now her favorite spot. I can see this cloffice serving her needs for years to come. The room actually feels larger since there are no doors covering the closet anymore. The chalkboard wall has been a hit with everyone, as has the ability of it all to become a fort at a moments notice. It has helped my daughter stay neat and organized since there is really no room for the clutter to hid. Everybody wins on this one!

Awesome! It looks great! What’s even better is that I know you probably kept a tight budget…workstations and desks are soooo expensive, and they’re usually not very kid friendly..

Popping over from Emily’s link-up party. Totally in love with this idea! Genius. The chalkboard paint is a fantastic! I don’t need a true office, just a small desk area so this would be perfect.

love this! you’d think it would be dark b/c of the chalkboard wall, but it really doesn’t seem that way. great job!

This turned out great. I have a 10 year old too and he would use this all the time if he had one in his bedroom! I hate having the kids do homework at the kitchen table.

Fabulous idea! Looks great… but I’m just wondering where the clothes are kept now? Or was this a spare/unused space?
Satya devi dasi says
Yes, I was wondering that, too.

This closet is in my 10 year old daughters bedroom. She is a bit of a tomboy so no hanging storage is needed at the moment. She has loads of storage elsewhere in her room as well as a cubby which I fitted with a curtain rod for future use. Between the 8 drawers, huge underbed drawer and cubby she’s all set!
