Florida Cup Soccer Tournament Starts January 10 at the Walt Disney World Resort

The second annual Florida Cup soccer tournament kicks off January 10 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Some of the players expected at the tournament include Brazilian soccer legend Ronaldinho, who is playing for Fluminense FC and Renato Augusto, Chicharito Hernandez, the Mexican National team star playing for Bayer Leverkusen, the reigning Brazil League MVP who leads SC Corinthians, and Santa Fe’s Omar Perez.

Disney Extends Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights Until January 6

It’s not over just yet.
The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was scheduled to end FOREVER on January 3 at park closing.
But the lights are still plugged in – until park close on Wednesday, January 6.
This means you still have a few days to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios and check out the 20th and final year of this holiday tradition.

Merchandise for 2016 Walt Disney World Marathon Revealed

The 2016 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is January 6-10 and Disney has just released a sneak peek of this year’s merchandise.
The items include apparel, hats, drinkware, and more.
Participants in each race will find apparel for their race including short and long sleeved shirts, Sweaty Bands, Bondi Bands, and even magnets. There are also “I Did It!” shirts for men and women for the races including the 5K and 10K events.

Sneak Peek of ‘Zootopia’ Coming to Disney Parks this Month

Guests at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort will soon be able to catch a sneak peek of Disney’s Zootopia.
The Zootopia preview at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will feature clips from the film as part of One Man’s Dream. And at Disney California Adventure the preview will be presented at the Bug’s Life Theater and will feature special in-theater effects.
The previews begin January 21.
Zootopia tells the story of an entire world populated by animals living in habitat neighborhoods.

Walt Disney World Resort Announces January 2016 Merchandise Events

The New Year is almost here and that also means a brand new month of special merchandise events at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The WonderGround Gallery in the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs is hosting artist Bryan Fyffe on January 1 and 2 from 5-8 p.m. and on January 3 from 12-3 p.m.

New Disney Trading Pins Coming to Disney Parks in 2016

Disney pin collectors and traders will like this news – there are several new and open edition pins coming to the Disney Parks in 2016.
The new pin-of-the-month collection is called ‘Disney Love Letters’ and each month the limited-edition pin features Disney characters expressing love. This collection will be shared between Disneyland and Walt Disney World and each pin has an edition size of 3,000.

It’s almost 2016 (can you believe it?!?) and the Disneyland Resort has just announced its special merchandise events for January.
The WonderGround Gallery is hosting a special artist showcase with Happy Pantry from 1-4 p.m. on January 9 and 10.
The weekend of January 15-17 is busy at Disneyland. The WonderGround Gallery is welcoming artist Joe Corroney for a special appearance and signing of his Star Wars artwork from 5-7 p.m. each day. Disneyland Resort Welcomes Iowa and Stanford Players Prior to Rose Bowl

With the 2016 Rose Bowl Game just a few days away players from Iowa and Stanford made a stop at the Disneyland Resort on December 26.
Both teams appeared with their coaches Kirk Ferentz (Iowa) and David Shaw (Stanford) in a ceremony with Disneyland Resort President Michael Colglazier and Mickey Mouse.
After the ceremony at Disney California Adventure’s Paradise Pier the teams had a chance to visit attractions at Disney California Adventure include Radiator Springs Racers and California Screamin’.
