Grant Proposal Writing

Writing effective grant proposals is a core skill to help secure financial support for your research and advance professionally. Not unlike publishing, there are best practices to better one’s chances of securing funding just as there are pitfalls to avoid. These seminars are broad enough to provide guidance to researchers in the U.S. and abroad.

Research Resources

Not all research tools are created equal. These training sessions and seminars help attendees to maximize the power of resources like SciFinder® and the ACS journals. Deeper fluency in using these resources could save hours or days in the lab. Some sessions require all students to be on a computer.

Networking & Communicating Your Science

Networking and communication are essential skills needed to advance your professional future whether it is in academia, industry or elsewhere. A key component of networking is effectively communicating your science to a nonspecialist. These sessions are dedicated to breaking down the nuances of this “soft skill” and teaching attendees to speak more clearly about their research.
