Starting the season without Alexis Sanchez is not the best way to kick-off

The last time that Arsenal won the Premier League title was during the 2003-04 season and ever since then, Arsene Wenger has only managed to put the English club in the top 5 spots of the top tier English league which isn’t bad as this shows consistency from the manager and his players but the fans of the club are tired of seeing them getting so close but just not managing to pull it off.

The next Premier League season kicks off on August 8 and Arsene Wenger has already had some bad news to announce to the supporters of the club and it involves one of their most important as well as influential figures, Alexis Sanchez.

Alexis Sanchez will be missing out from the opening match of the season for Arsenal. Arsene Wenger talked during a press conference in Asia and said: “He’ll be back with us on Aug. 3 and it takes about three weeks to competitive. It could take him a little bit less time to get match fit but he’ll miss our first game.”

One of the main reasons of why Arsenal in the past few years have just not been capable on making it through an entire season in full force and pull off a Premier League win is due to injuries as the main stars of the team have had to miss out from a significantly large period of time and this has already started to affect the squad of Arsene Wenger. Arsene Wenger is Best Managers in World

Arsene Wenger may be regarded as one of the best managers in the world. He has transformed Arsenal from the ground up and they are now one of the best clubs in the world.

However, both have a huge monkey on the back in the form of the Champions League. For all the dominance that Arsenal have enjoyed in domestic football over the last 15 years, they have never been able to win the European competition which is so craved by many. Chelsea recently became the first London club to lift the Champions League. Wenger came the closest when he reached the final in 2006.

Ahead of the start of yet another Champions League campaign, the Frenchman has admitted that winning this competition remains a huge draw for him. He is confident that it will be achieved one-day or the other. Wenger, though, is fast losing time in order to achieve this objective. At 65 years of age, it is heavily thought that he will not carry managing a top club for more than a couple of years. Recent back-to-back FA Cup titles have convinced Wenger to stay at Arsenal for another contract. This may not be the case couple of years down the line. Continue reading

Arsene Wenger has stated that the club do not need a player like Arturo Vidal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that the club do not need a player like Arturo Vidal. The defensive midfielder has been acclaimed as one of the best in the world for his performances with Juventus. The Italian club have benefited fromVidal’s ability not just to make tackles, but to also start attacks. He has formed an impeccable partnership with Paul Pogba in the centre of midfield and this has seen the club make an appearance in the Champions League final after more than a decade of absence.Vidal has constantly turned down transfer rumours, but speculation continues to grow that Arsenal will make an offer for him.

Rejecting any chance of signing the Chilean international to go along with Alexis Sanchez, Wenger stated that the club do not need a defensive midfielder likeVidal. This is against the opinions of several fans and pundits, who feel that Arsenal will be much stronger with a defensive midfielder of the highest quality. Towards the second half of last campaign, Wenger was largely trusting FrenchmanFrancis Coquelin as the defensive linchpin, but the 24-year-old is only now starting to establish himself as a first-team regular. He does not have the experience that can come close to a player likeVidal. Continue reading

Monaco knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League

On March 17 of the current year, As.Monaco knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League thanks to away goals and Arsene Wenger later went on expressing his dissatisfaction towards that rule as the French manager believes stated that it should be eliminated from the Champions League and the Europa League.

Arsene Wenger has once again voiced his opinion concerning something in the world of football and this time it’s involving referees.

A few weeks ago, Zlatan Ibrahimovic received a red card after he tackled Chelsea’s Oscar during a Champions League match but after seeing replays of the tackle, the red card did appear to be way too harsh as the Swedish player did not deserve to be removed from the match due to the tackle.

When the match was over, Ibrahimovic stated that he felt he was around 11 babies in the pitch as the Chelsea players surrounded the referee and the Swedish attacker. The players of the squad of Jose Mourinho tried to put pressure and complain to the referee who still had not made his decision on giving away the red card. Continue reading

Francis Coquelin is Playing for Charlton on Loan

If some injuries had not occurred at Arsenal this season, Francis Coquelin might still have been playing for Charlton Athletic on loan.

But, because the Gunners’ management started feeling a bit short on midfield options courtesy the injuries, they called the 23-year old back and what an absolute revelation he has been.

The Frenchman has almost become a guaranteed selection in the starting XI of Arsenal with his consistency in the last 12-15 weeks.

And, his consistency has earned him a contract extension too at Emirates.

According to Arsene Wenger, the man who makes all the decisions in that Arsenal camp, this was going to be Coquelin’s last season in the Gunners’ outfit as the club had planned to put him on sale next summer.

But, the way, he came back from the loan spell and played, he took each and every person at the club by huge surprise. Continue reading

Alex Song on loan deal with West Ham United

Alex Song is currently performing for West Ham United on a loan deal with his parent club being Barcelona but the Cameroon midfielder has revealed his intention on making a return to Arsenal, which is the club where he used to play with and it’s the team where he spent his most time as he made over 120 appearances.

Song revealed his interest in returning to the Emirates Stadium.

“I would have liked to go back to Arsenal but they did not want to. That’s life. Cesc Fabregas also wanted to return to Arsenal but they did not want to exercise their option. It is surprising when you see what he is doing at Chelsea. He is stronger than before’’

‘’Arsenal is a family. I will see people who I know well. This is the club that made me grow up; I arrived there at the age of 17’’ Alex Song told reporters as he described just how important and how much of an impact Arsenal has been for him.

According to the Cameroon midfielder, he wanted to return to Arsenal but Arsene Wenger was not interested in bringing him back which was a similar thing with what happened to Cesc Fabregas as the Spanish midfielder wanted to come back to Arsenal after his relationship with Barcelona reached its end.

If this is indeed all true and Arsene Wenger did not want to bring back either Fabregas or Song then it would be a rather surprising decision from the French manager as his team is consistently being hit by injuries that has hampered the capabilities of Arsenal on a number of occasions on making a serious and genuine charge for the Premier League title.

Bringing back quality players such as Alex Song or Cesc Fabregas would be a good decision for Arsene Wenger and Arsenal as these players can spark new life to the squad.

Wengar Believed Te Be Looking For Playmaker Khedira

The manager of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, is believed to be looking to place a bid for the Real Madrid playmaker Sami Khedira.

Khedira who is 27 years of age at the moment has been pretty good both at the club as well as at the international level of late. He is currently in Brazil featuring for his country Germany in the FIFA World Cup 2014.

Wenger reckons that he doesn’t have players who can make a difference is the midfield. Thus, he is keen to have one or two class acts there and Khedira is one of those whom he has set his eyes on.

However, the Gunners will have to work hard to secure the Khedira deal because they are not the only club to be interested in the player. Their arch rivals Manchester United and the west London based club Chelsea are also in the race. Even Liverpool is understood to be willing to have the services of the German ace. So, it will be an interesting battle.

According to the reports, Wenger would offer Madrid an amount of about 25 million Pounds for Khedira.

As far as Khedira’s performance in La Liga in the 2013-14 Season is concerned, he remained out for a long time because of getting injured in November last year, but, in the games that he had featured in before that, he had made an impact.

If Khedira takes a transfer to Arsenal this summer, he would be the first choice there right from his first season and would, in all likelihood, play in almost all the league games.

In the meantime, however, Khedira needs to guide Germany to the World Cup glory in Brazil. He is a vital part of his national squad. Germany’s chances of winning the competition depend a lot on his form.

Cazorla Wants Fabregas Back

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has stated that he wants the club to bring back Spanish international Cesc Fabregas in the summer. Fabregas is widely expected to leave Barcelona after just two years at the club. Arsenal will have a huge say in his next destination, as they are believed to hold the first refusal in his contract. This clause was inserted into his contract when he was originally sold to Barcelona for £ 35 million two years ago. With the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United being interested in him, Fabregas is set to become one of the biggest transfer deals in the summer.

However, Cazorla does not want Arsenal’s rivals to get the midfielder. Instead, he wants Arsenal to sign the player despite the wealth of attacking midfielders they haven at the club. After signing Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for £ 42 million last summer, the club will be thinking twice about signing another attacking midfielder. However, the expected departures of Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky in the next few years will help them convince that Fabregas is a player that they needed the moment.

Cazorla has revealed on several occasions that he enjoys a great relationship with the 27-year-old, who is a star for the national team.

“I have read that Cesc could go to Chelsea but I prefer it if he came to Arsenal. He has given a lot to the club and he knows it well. I hope that he is happy, he chooses his club well and is comfortable there. I don’t see any differences between his performances in the Premiership and with Barca. His record is spectacular at Barcelona and he has demonstrated that he has adapted but they haven’t given him the same value as in England,” said the Spanish star ahead of the World Cup 2014.

Wengar Admits Signings Too Pricy

Arsene Wenger has revealed that he came close to signing Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard in the summer, but has accepted that the club were simply not be able to cope with the offer from Chelsea for the player. Arsenal were one of several clubs interested in the Belgian midfielder, who is regarded as one of the best talents in the world. He joined Chelsea in the summer of 2012 for a reported £ 35 million, while he is also believed to be earning around £ 160,000 per week. Arsenal have been very prudent in spending money over the last decade.

They finally opened the wallets with £ 42 million arrival of Mesut Ozil in the summer, but Wenger reckons that Hazard could have been the first big-money arrival at the club. The Frenchman says that he held talks with Hazard’s agent prior to the player’s move to Chelsea. Even though Arsenal were close to signing him, the offer from Chelsea proved irresistible for both Lille – the player’s former club – and the player himself. Wenger’s future is a major doubt as the manager is yet to sign the contract.

He could leave the club in the next few months with his contract running out. Wenger, though, has requested patience in this regard.

“Yes, I wanted to take him, I had his agent at my home but again the barrier was financial and Chelsea made an effort that I couldn’t make. He can be one of the players who grows into the Messi, Ronaldo stature if he continues to develop well. If I was to go somewhere then I think it would be in a different country because I am so much Arsenal that I would not like to coach anywhere else in England,” said Wenger about the failure to sign Eden Hazard.

Wenger wants more new faces

After picking up two points and failing to score in their opening two Premier League games, it would be fair to say that Arsenal have hardly got off to the best of starts this term. Following from that, Arsene Wenger has claimed that he is still looking to bolster his squad with new faces ahead of the transfer deadline. Continue reading
