Giroud steps up for Arsenal in Europe
Arsenal faced Olympiakos in the Champions League knowing that only a victory by a two-goal margin would secure their place in the knockout stages of the competition.
Arsene Wenger opted for both Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott in the starting line-up but played the Englishman on the wing rather than up front. By the end of the evening, the Gunners were through after Giroud’s hat-trick earned Wenger’s men a 3-0 victory.
Can they win the Champions League this season? Possibly not but at least they’ve managed to reach the last-16 once again. From there, who knows?

IN OUR OWN HANDS
Arsenal would be a relieved and happy unit to know that they don’t have to depend on anyone else now for their qualification to the European Cup knockouts.
After losing three out of their first four games, Arsenal had got into a situation where they had to hope for Bayern Munich to get the better of Olympiacos for them to remain alive in the tournament.

Starting the season without Alexis Sanchez is not the best way to kick-off
The last time that Arsenal won the Premier League title was during the 2003-04 season and ever since then, Arsene Wenger has only managed to put the English club in the top 5 spots of the top tier English league which isn’t bad as this shows consistency from the manager and his players but the fans of the club are tired of seeing them getting so close but just not managing to pull it off.
The next Premier League season kicks off on August 8 and Arsene Wenger has already had some bad news to announce to the supporters of the club and it involves one of their most important as well as influential figures, Alexis Sanchez.
Alexis Sanchez will be missing out from the opening match of the season for Arsenal. Arsene Wenger talked during a press conference in Asia and said: “He’ll be back with us on Aug. 3 and it takes about three weeks to competitive. It could take him a little bit less time to get match fit but he’ll miss our first game.”
One of the main reasons of why Arsenal in the past few years have just not been capable on making it through an entire season in full force and pull off a Premier League win is due to injuries as the main stars of the team have had to miss out from a significantly large period of time and this has already started to affect the squad of Arsene Wenger. Is Redknapp right?
Saturday November 21 proved to be a day to forget for all of those associated with Arsenal Football Club, with a 2-1 reversal away at West Bromwich Albion leading to numerous questions being asked of a side that had hoped to avoid another grilling.
The Gunners have fallen under the microscope at regular intervals this season, with struggles in the Champions League – which may yet lead to an early exit at the group stage – and elimination from the Capital One Cup at the hands of Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday making for uncomfortable viewing.
Arsene Wenger’s men have, on the whole, provided some assertive answers in Premier League competition, though, with a productive run of five straight wins offering the perfect response to defeat at Chelsea in September. Continue reading →

Mesut Ozil will be given a central role
During the entire career of Mesut Ozil as a player of Arsenal, the German midfielder has been played in a number of different positions on the pitch and he hasn’t truly managed to stand out or replicate the performances that he made during his time as a player of Real Madrid.
For this season however, it is believed that Mesut Ozil will be performing in his preferred central role as Arsene Wenger is expected to change the German midfielder from the left side of the pitch into the center of the midfield which is his favorite position. Continue reading →

Arsene Wenger is Best Managers in World
Arsene Wenger may be regarded as one of the best managers in the world. He has transformed Arsenal from the ground up and they are now one of the best clubs in the world.
However, both have a huge monkey on the back in the form of the Champions League. For all the dominance that Arsenal have enjoyed in domestic football over the last 15 years, they have never been able to win the European competition which is so craved by many. Chelsea recently became the first London club to lift the Champions League. Wenger came the closest when he reached the final in 2006.
Ahead of the start of yet another Champions League campaign, the Frenchman has admitted that winning this competition remains a huge draw for him. He is confident that it will be achieved one-day or the other. Wenger, though, is fast losing time in order to achieve this objective. At 65 years of age, it is heavily thought that he will not carry managing a top club for more than a couple of years. Recent back-to-back FA Cup titles have convinced Wenger to stay at Arsenal for another contract. This may not be the case couple of years down the line. Continue reading →

Arsene Wenger has stated that the club do not need a player like Arturo Vidal
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that the club do not need a player like Arturo Vidal. The defensive midfielder has been acclaimed as one of the best in the world for his performances with Juventus. The Italian club have benefited fromVidal’s ability not just to make tackles, but to also start attacks. He has formed an impeccable partnership with Paul Pogba in the centre of midfield and this has seen the club make an appearance in the Champions League final after more than a decade of absence.Vidal has constantly turned down transfer rumours, but speculation continues to grow that Arsenal will make an offer for him.
Rejecting any chance of signing the Chilean international to go along with Alexis Sanchez, Wenger stated that the club do not need a defensive midfielder likeVidal. This is against the opinions of several fans and pundits, who feel that Arsenal will be much stronger with a defensive midfielder of the highest quality. Towards the second half of last campaign, Wenger was largely trusting FrenchmanFrancis Coquelin as the defensive linchpin, but the 24-year-old is only now starting to establish himself as a first-team regular. He does not have the experience that can come close to a player likeVidal. Continue reading →

WALCOTT HAS ARSENAL FUTURE
Theo Walcott could never really play a very influential role for Arsenal in this season and this was due to injuries as the English player struggled just trying to stay in shape.
Arsene Wenger utilized the services of Walcott in 14 occasions as it was the amount of matches that the 26 year old player appeared in for Arsenal. This is a low quantity of appearances for a player who is or was being viewed as one of the most promising figures in the world of football but even though Theo Walcott did not play a very significant role in this season, Arsene Wenger announced that he has big plans for Walcott. Monaco knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League
On March 17 of the current year, As.Monaco knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League thanks to away goals and Arsene Wenger later went on expressing his dissatisfaction towards that rule as the French manager believes stated that it should be eliminated from the Champions League and the Europa League.
Arsene Wenger has once again voiced his opinion concerning something in the world of football and this time it’s involving referees.
A few weeks ago, Zlatan Ibrahimovic received a red card after he tackled Chelsea’s Oscar during a Champions League match but after seeing replays of the tackle, the red card did appear to be way too harsh as the Swedish player did not deserve to be removed from the match due to the tackle.
When the match was over, Ibrahimovic stated that he felt he was around 11 babies in the pitch as the Chelsea players surrounded the referee and the Swedish attacker. The players of the squad of Jose Mourinho tried to put pressure and complain to the referee who still had not made his decision on giving away the red card. Continue reading →
