Brendan Rodgers will have his future decided in the next few days

This Premier League season which reached it’s end a few weeks ago was a disastrous one for Liverpool but especially for Brendan Rodgers who will now have a meeting with the chairman Tom Werner.

Liverpool was knocked out of the FA Cup after losing against Aston Villa on April 19. Brendan Rodgers also failed on pushing his team to a European spot as Liverpool had to settle with the 6th spot of the Premier League which does not grant them with any possibility of competing in either the Champions League or the Europa League.

Just by taking a look at how Liverpool finished this season, it’s pretty evident that the Premier League club was just happy to have this campaign finalized.

The last match of the season of Liverpool was played at the Britannia Stadium as Brendan Rodgers and his men faced off with Stoke City and lost 6-1.

Brendan Rodgers has a managerial contract with Liverpool that extends until 2018 and this means that the coach hailing from Northern Ireland should have his job secured until then but in the world of football certain things end sooner than initially expected. Continue reading

RODGERS JOB IS SAFE

This season which ended not too long ago was not the best in the history of Liverpool as the club was eliminated in the early stages of their European competitions and most of the signings that were made in order to improve the team could not fulfill that originally intended target.

To make matters worse after analyzing the history of Liverpool FC, Brendan Rodgers is the first manager since the 1950’s who has not been able to lift a single trophy in his first 3 years in charge of the squad.

It hasn’t even been a substantially memorable season for the players of the squad with Mario Balotelli who continues to struggle while other key performers have sustained injuries but there is one player in specific who will be leaving Anfield after having spent over 15 years at the English club and it’s Steven Gerrard. Liverpool got another Chance to Rekindle their Hopes

Liverpool have been given a major chance to rekindle their hopes of a top four finish after seeing Manchester City lose yet another match in the Premier League.

After having been title contenders for the most of the campaign, poor form throughout 2015 has seen Manuel Pellegrini’s team drop to the position of fourth place with six games remaining. The positive aspect for Liverpool, whose Champions League hopes appeared to be destroyed after the 4-1 defeat against Arsenal, have been rekindled after City lost against Manchester United on Sunday. Liverpool have the opportunity to narrow the seven point deficit to the fourth spot when they take on Newcastle at Anfield on Monday night.

Newcastle have little to play for and this is seen as a great opportunity for Brendan Rodgers to provide some confidence into the team. Liverpool managed to end a sequence of back-to-back defeats by getting a 1-0 win over Blackburn in the FA Cup replay to reach the semifinals of the competition. This will provide them with a huge boost going into the match against Newcastle. Despite concerns about the fitness of striker Daniel Sturridge, manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to play the England international. He has called upon Sturridge to play through the pain for the rest of the campaign. Continue reading

DE ROSSI LINKED

The summer transfer window is on the horizon and this is a period of time that allows players to make a switch to another club. Rumors always start floating around as the contracts of certain players reach their end.

As.Roma’s Daniele de Rossi is one of the players who recently has been linked with a move outside of the Italian League, Serie A. At the age of 31, the Italian midfielder is reaching the last few stages of his career and retiring is an option that players start considering at this age. Continue reading

Can Liverpool leapfrog arch enemies Manchester United?

Getting one over on arch rivals Manchester United at Anfield would be sweet revenge for the painful 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford, but the upcoming game could mean so much more to Liverpool than mere bragging rights.

The Reds have put themselves in a wonderful position to challenge for a consecutive top four finish, but with just nine Premier League fixtures remaining, securing three points has become much more important than performing well.

With Chelsea and Manchester City looking relatively secure to finish in the top four, Liverpool find themselves in the midst of a five-horse race for the two remaining Champions League spots, and while the Reds may arguably be the most in-form side, facing the team directly above them will be their biggest challenge yet. Brendan Rodgers didnt make Changes in Liverpool

The winter transfer window ended a few weeks ago and Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers did not make any big changes or signings in January but even though nothing really happened in the squad, Brendan Rodgers remains happy and confident about how his team has been developing which is why the manager decided not to have an active transfer window.

“With the group of players we have and obviously the market dictates it as well. I am happy with how the team and the squad is developing and between now and the end of the season we’ll look to continue with that improvement. We would want to keep all the players here.”

Mario Balotelli was one of the few players in the team of Brendan Rodgers who was being linked with a move outside of Liverpool after having endured a disastrous campaign with Liverpool as the Italian forward has only managed to score 1 Premier League goal in 13 appearances. Continue reading
