Liverpool got another Chance to Rekindle their Hopes
Liverpool have been given a major chance to rekindle their hopes of a top four finish after seeing Manchester City lose yet another match in the Premier League.
After having been title contenders for the most of the campaign, poor form throughout 2015 has seen Manuel Pellegrini’s team drop to the position of fourth place with six games remaining. The positive aspect for Liverpool, whose Champions League hopes appeared to be destroyed after the 4-1 defeat against Arsenal, have been rekindled after City lost against Manchester United on Sunday. Liverpool have the opportunity to narrow the seven point deficit to the fourth spot when they take on Newcastle at Anfield on Monday night.
Newcastle have little to play for and this is seen as a great opportunity for Brendan Rodgers to provide some confidence into the team. Liverpool managed to end a sequence of back-to-back defeats by getting a 1-0 win over Blackburn in the FA Cup replay to reach the semifinals of the competition. This will provide them with a huge boost going into the match against Newcastle. Despite concerns about the fitness of striker Daniel Sturridge, manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to play the England international. He has called upon Sturridge to play through the pain for the rest of the campaign. Continue reading →

Brendan Rodgers didnt make Changes in Liverpool
The winter transfer window ended a few weeks ago and Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers did not make any big changes or signings in January but even though nothing really happened in the squad, Brendan Rodgers remains happy and confident about how his team has been developing which is why the manager decided not to have an active transfer window.
“With the group of players we have and obviously the market dictates it as well. I am happy with how the team and the squad is developing and between now and the end of the season we’ll look to continue with that improvement. We would want to keep all the players here.”
Mario Balotelli was one of the few players in the team of Brendan Rodgers who was being linked with a move outside of Liverpool after having endured a disastrous campaign with Liverpool as the Italian forward has only managed to score 1 Premier League goal in 13 appearances. Continue reading →

Liverpool beat United to close gap on leaders
Liverpool kept their title hopes alive with a famous 3-0 win over reigning champions Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Penalty kicks either side of half time from Steven Gerrard gave the visitors a comfortable lead, while Luis Suarez put the result beyond any doubt with a neat finish six minutes from time.
With the score at two nil, the Reds were awarded a third penalty in an incident that saw United captain Nemanja Vidic dismissed, but Gerrard, who went for the opposite corner to his previous two efforts, hit the post.
Brendan Rodgers’ men were superior in all areas, easing to a fifth straight league win, and tenth unbeaten.
They are now just four points behind leaders Chelsea with a game in a hand, after Jose Mourinho’s men were beaten 1-0 by Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
Arsenal beat Tottenham Hotspur to stay level on points with Liverpool, while title favourites Manchester City kept themselves in the hunt by beating Hull City.
Liverpool will now turn their attention to next Saturday’s trip to Cardiff City, while they host Sunderland four days later.
Should they take maximum points from both games, and Chelsea fail to beat Arsenal at the weekend, they will return to the summit with just seven games to left to play.
