Funding For OpenStack Brain Trust

Dell, Intel and WestSummit Capital have come together to infuse $10 million in funding into Mirantis, a cloud consulting firm. Mirantis is one of the only OpenStack brain trusts outside of Rackspace. For the past 3 years, this start up firm has been looking after funds for itself. It has already achieved quite a lot in this short span of time. 300 employees, a solid list of customers including AT&T and a close partnership with Intel Capital to name a few.

Mirantis is lending a helping hand to Intel in building an OpenStack cloud. Dell will use OpenStack architecture for its public IaaS cloud and Mirantis is the designer of that data center space. This company is also one of the code contributors to the OpenStack open source project.

Mirantis also specializes in studying existing infrastructure of a company and then helping move it into an OpenStack type of cloud operation.
