The Internet told me they wanted this video.
I’m just not sure they knew what they were asking for.

Maggie, first off, I keep forgetting how you are such a charming person! As soon as I started the video I couldn’t suppress the grin on my face.

Also, I think your Irish pipes skills are coming along brilliantly. You have already reached “Horror Music Soundtrack” level, so I think that you will in no time be at “Christopher Nolan Will Be Begging You To Make Music For His Movies” level! (It’s kinda pathetic how I just talked only about soundtrack music… I need to grow a more diverse musical taste…) We at Tumblr have faith in thee.

By the way, AWESOME NEW BOOK COVER AND TITLE, OH MY GOD I CAN’T WAIT!

I still think the pipes sounded beautiful, honestly. I heard tunes. I heard music. No, I heard beautiful Irish music-that-sometimes-makes-me-wished-I-was-Irish. Your facial expressions in the video are so endearing, Maggie.
A video I want to see is just how you were introduced to folklore. In the beginning of Ballad, you dedicated it to your mother, because she showed you fairies in the woods. And I just want to know more about all that in general, your experiences in the woods (if that isn’t too personal), what you thought of it as a kid, what you think of it as an adult, your favorite stories… Those topics are just some I can think up off the top of my head right now, but yeah, folklore. I want to know more about it from you.

I really love the sound of those pipes. Hope to hear their echo floating down from the hill in the quite of the evening this summer. How beautiful that would be.

I think they sounded great towards the end. (And I’m a big Irish and Highland pipes fan.) But believe me, I know what it’s like to try and pick up a new instrument. I’m learning the side drum in a pipe and drum band and it’s…interesting. I’m getting better, but it’s a loooonnnnnggg process. spacer

My sister just saw me watching this and decided that this is where I get my insanity from. I accepted her comment with pride.
If I ever pick up a new instrument, I think I would like to try the bagpipe
