The Spicy Lamb Farm

The centerpiece of The Spicy Lamb Farm is a purebred production polled Dorset flock. This family farm is run by Laura DeYoung and Michael Minnig. Sheep are also grazed off site through the Urban Shepherds grazing program. The family’s interest in sheep began when Laura spent her adolescent years living in England near the rural countryside. In addition to the sheep, duck is being raised along with organic varieties of apples, pears, and plums. The farm also features the spicy herbs and vegetables for which it was named.
Celebrating local food, fiber, and fun, the farm is a regional favorite for family agtourism events such as the Cuyahoga Valley Sheep Dog Trials. Surrounded by mature woodlands and hidden away at the dead-end part of Akron Peninsula Road, off of Boston Mills Road, in the scenic Village of Peninsula, the farm is a place of education, fascination, and inspiration.
